Totally. It's going to be awesome, regardless. And I said "lazy" earlier, but in fact it is less lazy, IMO, to blue sky a completely new concept. Shoehorning a ride into an existing environment is one way, creating a new ride and new environment is another way. Both have their merits and offer different approaches.

Again, I'm ok with it- I just hope it has a logical explanation. Universal doesn't have the best track record there, so forgive my hesitation.

They aren't mutually exclusive. Even if this weren't a ride at all, it is a 10x upgrade vs DD just based on appearance alone.

I don't think it was logical which is why it's gone. IIRC Rowling, hated that DC was there when Potter first opened.

On the subject of Rowling, I'm sure she was the one saying yes or no to all creative ideas and decisions and I don't see any reason why this land can't exist within the universe.

I loved the old rides at Universal which were a continuation of well established worlds. BTTF and Terminator 2 expanded the world and didn't just show you what you already knew. With Rowling fully on board, expect this to become canon as well.

As for the timeline of this ride, personally I think it makes more sense for there to just be ruins in the forest. Hogwarts is fine. It's over next to Hogsmeade. You can see it. It's the most impressive visual part of the whole land. Obviously they could set this ride after the battle of Hogwarts. They could make a second Hogwarts for this ride, and a second Hagrid's hut (both in the form of ruins) but then the whole ride exists in its own separate timeline from the rest of the park, and ofter you ride it you get to go back in time to an era before the battle of Hogwarts when everything was fine and there were gift shops everywhere.

Maybe not from day 1, but I’m sure the queue will be built and ready after the buzz dies down a little, similar to Skull Island.

Once again though, Pottermore isn't a site that should be taken lightly and for granted.

It's official, and likely means we'll get a blog post by either the end of the day, or sometime this week.

Regarding the location and what is in there:

The text in the announcement says: ‘all-new adventure’

We know themed coasters being in 1 place where dark rides could have many locations while you drive trough them.
What if this coaster tells a story like a dark ride. There are long stretches to go from 1 location to the other. I think we are not in Hogsmeads backyard but in a ride that starts and takes you on an adventure too areas who are not necessarily at 1 actual location. (Just my 2 cents).

kind of odd that the castle still seems like the center point in this ride concept, instead of that ruin.

I realize this is a teaser, but all we are really looking at is a forest with a couple tracks going through it.
