Rank The Star Wars Films

Today the Phantom Menace turns 20, next week Star Wars turns 42, this summer Galaxy's Edge opens, and this December the Skywalker Saga comes to a close (for now). So I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking about the series currently so lets do what nerds do and make lists. How do you rank the 10 live action Star Wars movies?


Personally I would put them like this:

1. Star Wars
2. The Last Jedi
3. The Empire Strikes Back
4. The Force Awakens
5. Return of The Jedi
6. Rogue One
7. The Phantom Menace
8. Solo
9. Attack of The Clones
10. Revenge of the Sith

2: Rogue One
3: New Hope
4: The Force Awakens
5: The Last Jedi
6: The Clone Wars (Animated Film (Yes, there was a theatrical film based off of the CG show in 2008))
7: Revenge of The Sith
8: Return of The Jedi
9: A Phantom Menace
10: Attack of The Clones

I have yet to see Solo in it's completion, strangely; so I don't count it. And I'm somewhat surprised about that..

I personally don't think Rogue one gets enough credit, and I don't share the whole Force awakens ret conned New Hope view, still loved it.

Even with all the hate the Disney era movies get, they are still way better than the prequel trilogy IMO.

But I am still Old School because I am getting Old, I loved collecting the first 3 movies toys, figures, what ever. I was 4 years old standing in line with my grandfather for Star Wars.

1. A New Hope (the only film that can stand on it's own without sequels)

3. The Last Jedi (a flawed masterpiece and I will continue to die on this hill)
4. Solo (just watched it for the first time this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it in spite of the production problems)
5. The Force Awakens (too derivative)
6. The Phantom Menace (there's enough material to like once you get through the bad parts)
7. Attack of the Clones
8. Return of the Jedi
9. Rogue One (for me, it's a real drag until the last 30 minutes)
10. Revenge of the Sith (well made, but just way too bleak and not nearly fun enough for my taste)
