Super Nintendo World (Osaka)

So to take my mind off of the current events I started playing Pikmin 3, and playing that reminded me that there are Pikmin hidden inside the land. So far I've spotted the one that was already found near toad's cade, but I found some new ones too.
Also sidenote, the render they're using for Mario is a fan's which is ironic considering Nintendo and its relationship with the fans.
Edit: Even the interactive website has the Pikmin on the entrance to Yoshi.

There’s more Pikmin to the left of Peach’s meet and greet upstairs (above the gift shop), and some to the left of the future DK entry portal.. just to name a few.

I was planning on heading to Osaka next month to catch the opening but news over here in Japan is that Kansai area is going to be added to the current national State of Emergency this week over surging COVID cases.

My guess is that there will be at least some change of operation at USJ as a result, and I'm curious how or if this is going to affect Nintendo's opening. Going to keep waiting before I buy tickets to see what happens.

Over on themeparx there are some photos of Yoshi's queue. The green egg on the ride is in the preshow. Basically similar to the toads' at the toad cafe, toadette is talking about what you need to do on your journey.

I know that there will be practical and digital effects to simulate speed, but I've been thinking how they're going to pull this off. If they're going to use physical moving objects rushing past you to simulate speed, that would mean that there can't be a lot of physical environment surrounding you. Otherwise, they would all have to be stationary which would ruin the illusion.

Not necessarily, F&F Supercharged (can't believe I'm using this as an example lol) uses projection and wind to simulate speed when you aren't moving at all...it's the best part of the ride

And as a throwback, Earthquake used a simple lighting/wind effect to make it seem like you were on a subway moving at a high speed

Gringotts also uses fans to make you feel like you're going much faster after the initial teeter-totter drop

In other words, lighting, wind, and some old trickery can make you feel like you're moving fast

I've looked into this a little bit and it seems like they're targeting bars and restaurants while keeping theaters and shops open, but I've heard nothing about what's going on with the park yet.

Well said! Also, Test Track did a good job with going fast and zooming around. Whether they'd be able to take that mechanic and apply to another dark ride like mario kart I dunno.

I guess if we're constantly zipping around corners and up hills, that'll do a fine job with portraying a faster speed than you're actually going.
But if I'm riding it, I'm probably not gonna be concerned with how fast I'm going, but the environment around me and throwing items.

We're probably looking at a Indiana Jones Adventure/ Dinosaur in terms of vehicle speed. MIB is just too slow for Mario Kart even with AR and special effects.
Those rides move at a pretty good clip actually

MIB is what I'm expecting and what everyone has been hinting at

To add to the Space Mountain example...I once ride it with the lights on and it was absolutely crawling through the light tunnel

F&F is stationary and it still feels like you're moving
