Watched the Video..the ending is cool and for Sure I will enjoy riding it....but video for sure will underwhelm many

I get because of space they didn't want to make it a thrill ride...but kinda sucks its more Toy Story than....a Race.

Sure it will be fun...and maybe secrets will keep me coming back but hope most other Nintendo rides...are just rides and not worst video games. I can play Mario Kart at home...I want a Zelda ride to be able feeling like im in Hyrule and not Links Crossbow Training.

The buzz is that this is literally the only section that's primarily screen, so let's not mourn our chickens before they hatch.

It had nothing to do with space. They and Nintendo wanted to make a family friendly attraction, not a thrill ride.

I’d also wager your in the minority when it comes to not wanting Nintendo rides to feel like you’re in a video game. I’d imagine for the majority of guests that’s exactly what they want

The AR is insane. I honestly can't believe that they made it work and its so seamless... From watching the leak, it's pretty much confirmed to be a Toy Story Mania on crack. It was so nice seeing Wendy (she's my favorite koopaling).

Mario transitioning from AR to on screen was mind blowing I still cannot get over it.

The giant arrows interrupting the game play are a bit jarring though.. does anybody know why they're there?

You aim with where you are looking at, the arrows are most problaby to help you to with where to look.
I can imagine this gets really chaotic with everything that is happening. So the arrow is to help you to know where the next target it.

Keep in mind, this is a new area that we really haven't seen before and it's intended to make it fun for the whole family, not just for a specific group. And rides are meant to make you feel like you're playing and living inside a video game world. That's how theme parks are.

It’s a land based on a video game, make me feel like I’m playing the video game for realz, that video showed that insanely imo.

That was my thought. I actually expected a screen heavy ride since it is a video game. Though a bad comparison, the Harry Potter rides are taking you through places depicted as "real" by the movies. SNW is, by definition, truly make believe (unless you bring the Super Mario Bro's movie into this land). I think that the ride type and the usage of screens and AR are the best mediums for this experience. If the Donkey Kong coaster is built, that should flesh out this land really well with a coaster, a slow moving family ride, and the Mario ride. Still excited for when this finally makes it to Florida.

I think jury is still out on it it’s screen heavy, unless people just include that in AR, I personally separate the two. If RR is mostly screens the rest is sets then that’s really just the finale.

I watched the clip. Hopefully the rest of the ride isn't all just screens and AR, but it did look pretty cool. I hope they have some wind effects to really sell the sensation of speed.

Also, I really appreciate how they actually made an effort to hide the track with the projection. It's very rare that a ride will go through that kind of effort to hide the tracks. That was actually very clever how they pulled that off.

Still, watching it on YouTube is nowhere near the same as experiencing it in person. I'm going to have to push myself to not watch anymore but I was deathly curious to see just a little bit of what the ride is like.

As someone who's been curious about the pricing of animatronics. How much would the ones you're referring to cost to produce?
The Shaman from Navi River Journey was at the time Disney's most expensive animatronic with 10 million dollars.

Fast moving animatronics is not only costs, its also reliability.

Now that we know filming through AR can be done pretty well, I want Uni to release a real promo w shots inside the ride... not the green screen promos they've been making but something real.. I understand the whole spoiling culture but honestly, if I were them, I would want to release a beautifully produced video for advertisement before some guy w an android leaks the first look and showcases their hard work in non flattering ways.

They can't control all the leaks.. so why not just give your audience what they want?

Either way, everyone will be allowed to post in a week... I just hope they drop an awesome video along w everyone else on Feb 4.

Interesting how Universal has usually been on top of taking down the leaks, but to my surprise, the video is still up on Youtube!

I guess we're so close to the date, Universal probably just said, "eh, screw it."

Sure then make it a better game than I can play at home

This is a phone game...click click

I have no issues with it being a game but a shooter? That is not even the same genre

Also Mainstream will eat anything up...like go on Jimmy Fallen ride, so I care little for what they're standards are..lol

Once again sure it will be fun...but def not the best version of this ride. A better version would be family coaster inside (use wind to make you feel like your going faster than you are) and be able to use items to open paths and secrets
I'm sure both gamers and normal people would eat that up and its something we don't have yet.

I'm going to wager that most of their audience wouldn't want the ride spoiled by a POV. They might do ads with snippets from the ride, but it makes no sense to release a full POV of a brand new ride.

Considering dark rides have used wind to simulate moving faster then they really are, that's a non-issue.

As for the idea of a interactive family coaster, that's not feasible for MK in any way, shape or form. While there's a couple coasters with legit interactive/shooting moments, all of them come to a full-stop for those segments. That alone doesn't work for MK which has you shooting items aplenty while moving. An if it would be moving, it would be around the same speed of a darkride since any faster and there's no way in heck you'd be able to aim/hit anything. MK is seamless, frantic chaos. It doesn't slow down to fire items, so it's better using a darkride to have a nice control on everything going crazy for the whole ride. A coaster would be too much start-stop-start with those elements.

As for opening paths and secrets, those only come into play when you're racing in the actual games. They're not high on the priority list when it comes to making a ride based off MK.

You can play a full fledged AR dark ride at home?

I have no issues with it being a game but a shooter? That is not even the same genre

IDK what you're talking about. I dunno how anyone can watch that video of Rainbow Road and not think "that doesn't look like Mario Kart"

You haven't even ridden it yet. You've seen *one* scene.

"Items to open up paths"? Let me get this straight, you want a roller coaster where you as a rider can change the ride path on the fly?

As for "normal people and gamers" eating it up, get back to me when they *don't* eat this up. Because 99% of them will
