I'm avoiding all spoilers for this ride since I hope to see it for myself at the end of the year, but hearing comparisons to Toy Story Mania are definitely not was I was expecting to see. The comparison I had in my mind was a completely indoor Radiator Springs Racers, but I'm guessing that's not what they were going for. I still have very high expectations and I can't wait to ride it.

Good. Like I said, I'm avoiding everything I can. I just saw that thrown around and it was concerning haha.

Comparisons to TSMM are not being made in good faith. The tech and visual trickery on display make TSMM look like Buzz Lightyear

Even if that’s the style of ride it is, that would be a big departure of a lot of expectations. Regardless of how much better it may be. But it’s good to know that the new technology seems to be working. I’m very excited

Maybe it's because I've followed it closely, but the rumors have always been that the actual ride vehicles will move slowly but have simulated speed tunnels

I’ve been so excited to see how they’re gonna handle the floor throughout all and my expectations are far surpassed.

That makes sense. I’ve had plans to ride it out there soon after opening for some time, so I’ve stayed away from any specific info. Now I’m just hoping things are better internationally in December that would allow me to go. If not, definitely Summer 2022 for me.

I'm probably one of the few who consider it a "must ride" when I go. It is typically the first ride I hit up. It may not be on the level as Haunted Mansion but I consider it a fun ride. I just wish that they would revert back to the spinning level it had when it first opened.

This.........and...I love the CITH ride, but I must be in the definite minority. It's nearly always a walk on when we're there. And it's a cute fun ride to boot. But few ride it unless it's a holiday level crowd.

Mario Kart "the game": Spamming shells would be annoying

Mario Kart "the ride": Spamming shells is friggin fun

I view media adapted to a ride almost like when movies are based on a book. Some stuff just doesn't work in a movie or needs to be tweaked

It's the same principal here. The idea that you get one item every so often that you can only use once isn't quite as interesting as getting a large amount.

IDK it didn't bother me

And again, if the whole ride is like this then it's still going to be a re-rideable blast

The fact you can win the race or lose the race is just perfect, gives you almost no reason to not go back.

Same!!!! Except seeing a sad Yoshi who lost will be so upsetting :(

Also honestly, until people pointed it out on here I didn’t even notice the Mario transition, just flat out happened when I watched it the first few times, crazy crazy stuff.

After watching the POV for the 100th time, I noticed there are some lights overhead that illuminate the track, essentially washing out the projection mapped track a bit

I wonder if this effect will be used throughout, it's kind of an interesting approach.

Also, I wonder if during the Bowser blast portion...Are we supposed to be "stopped"?

It seems that is the case and then Bowser knocks us up to Rainbow Road

Legitimately the only people who would have wanted a passive dark ride experience over a highly interactive Mario Kart experience are posting on theme park forums.

Shooter rides are insanely popular and always rate highly on guest satisfaction. I will be amazed if this isn’t the highest rated ride at every resort it opens at

I definitely don’t think that what I described needed to be passive. It could have utilized much of the elements being used now. I just think a ride based on those games would better suit the speed, IMO. I mean, I’m still going ride and love MK, don’t get me wrong.

But I always try to see both sides, and try to find a middle ground.
