Much of the Universal Orlando attendance weakness in 2009 had more to do with people delaying visits to coincide with Potter's 2010 opening than with any recessionary factors.

Yes, but also no. If you look at the TEA reports for 2009 Global Attendance was down .2% & domestic attendance was down 1.1%, but typically had an annual growth of 2.2%. Potter definitely exacerbated the situation, but the recession was in play.

But with that being said other industries had much slower growth or reversions than parks.

If attendance starts to nose dive across domestic parks I expect that something will be offered. In September of 2020 Universal opted for "Buy A Day, Get the Rest of the Year", which REALLY helped smooth over some challenges.

I bought my express pass for Thursday Sep 22 and I was really debating on wether or not I should shell out more money for express on the 21st. I decided to do so a little over a month ago and this was around the time I booked my hotel at Endless Summer.

Im so glad I got my express both nights and booked my room when I did. I expected this year to be crowded but it sounds like I'm gonna get broad-sided by the crowds lol

I already have express both nights I'm going. Bought them a month and a half ago! Really thankful I did when I had the chance.

I feel like this is the least amount of info we've had on houses since I started attending (2010). Usually we have promo photos from house interiors with more extensive leaks and official interviews discussing specific scenes. There was a lot of talk re: how they were approaching TCM differently last year, but nothing on revisiting Halloween '78, for example. I guess there are also no longer media preview nights with design elements on display. It's exciting! We're obviously close, but I'm impatient. Does the event just sell itself now, or have they made a concerted effort to withhold more details?

I'm absolutely counting on it The first Saturday last year sold out and I'm expecting worse crowds this year. Plus, it's Labor Day weekend. The perfect storm hah.
