Looking at the Parade route on the App and web site it appears the parade is going in a counter clockwise direction this year.
Yup!
They also have changed their tents, making them fully enclosed with tarps - which should help keep them operating when the weather isn’t cooperative.
Any news on why they changed the direction? Might they do the same for the New upcoming parade and Holiday Parade, or is it just a Mardi Gras Parade decision?
Hot new rumor
......New Mardi Gras Parade manager had the organizing party at Pat O'Briens. He didn't draw the parade route map up until he finished his tenth hurricane. The reverse parade route allows for a quick drink break at Finnegans. No close bars on the first part of the old route. Easy explanation for an alcohol heavy themed parade. .
I swear back in the day it used to go this direction and not the other direction.
