An upcharge event to experience something that was heavily promoted as part of the general admission upon opening? We’re supposed to be mad about this, right theme park community?

towards the end of this promotion video:

it's been nearly a decade and it's clear they're not going to keep the park open well into the night. i've moved on and am excited about this, but i am admittedly a Volcano Bay Stan.

Yes, Universal initially tried to have Volcano Bay open well into the night, with the first Summer featuring closings around 9-10p. The problem was that the park would essentially clear out by 6 and was mostly empty. That said, VB still opens later with closings at 8 during peak times.

I think there is an important distinction between "We're open late into the night" and "We're open late into the night with other nighttime activities". This isn't just being open later; this is also offering something "in addition to."

For the record, I think this is awesome. I think all extra events are for locals who may find the day-to-day getting stale. Just poking some fun at the fandom ;)

Volcano Bay still closes at night during the summer sometimes. When I worked there during the summer of 2022 we were open till 9 pm pretty regularly but the park would start to become really empty by night time though so I see why they didn't stay open later. Very excited for this event, hopefully prices aren't too expensive because Volcano Bay is a wonderful park at night! Not related to this event but I think if they did an projection mapping show or something like that on the Volcano people would want to stay later.

Yeah this might be nice for people to do after a day at the parks. Lounging by the beach or taking the lazy river is a simple way to relax after being on your feet all day.

This could be a feeler event too to see how well it does and they could add more. The last one is the week right before Epic's opening, so they could extend it soon after some of the initial Day One/Week One buzz from Epic's opening dies down.

This is awesome! Water parks at night are a whole different animal. I used to work at Wet N Wild in Arlington Texas and I loved how it looked at night and riding the slides! TeAwa the Fearless River is going to seem twice as fast!

I'm so excited for this. My family may have to put together a quick budget trip for this. Only worry is our kids staying awake from 7 - 10 o_O

$99 is an interesting price point for this. Must be catering to those visiting for just weekend trips after the parks close early? Locals can upgrade for around the same price with an existing AP.

Yeah, I'm a little bummed with the price here. If I didn't have Volcano Bay on my pass already, I would definitely be making it a point to check this out. I wish current 3 park passholders could get a decent size discount, rather than just the 10% off going to all passes.
