The more I think about this, the more I think this will have a very similar vibe to AVP. This house is gonna take place at a barn with some big scary aliens. Sound familiar?

I can confirm by friends in this cast that they completely gutted the old Walking Dead stuff as well as the Horror Hotel/Evil Dead Rise and it's an equally long experience.

Finally. They were working around some of the larger Walking Dead set pieces for Evil Dead, so glad they finally demo'd to give themselves more room/flexibility in design.

Even with TWD still in there, Horror Hotel/Evil Dead easily felt like the longest maze. Honestly, even longer than TWD itself. I'd even wager to guess they were up there for the longest mazes we've ever had. Only other venue that that took that much time was obviously House of Horrors mazes (if you want to count them) and maybe the old T2/Minions queue (House of 1000 Corpses, Alice Cooper Goes to Hell). There was also that one year of TWD that had Terminus that felt insanely long (I can't remember the location for it though, we only had it that one time).

After listening to Murdy's "behind the scenes" audio & seeing a few photos. I appreciate the technical side of this house, but it's still on the lowest of low "meh" side for me.

It'll be weird seeing the entire venue space completely gutted & redone after 4.2 years of TWD

Usually I hate looking at a lot of spoiler photos but for some reason, I just can’t help myself this year.

Really impressed with the scenic. Looks really good!

Given how well Chucky performed (in Hollywood) last year, I'm actually pretty excited to see what they're able to do with an equally big challenge.

I’m really hoping this will be the next stepping stone to be able to pull off The Thing effectively.

Yay more/better photos! Thanks @Brian G. While we had a few "tall" sets in TWD, I bet that house facade was impressive to see inside the building

Sad to know there's only like ONE singular surviving ET forest tree left. It must be protected!

Yeah the days of paper mache Mind Flayers are over. Really exciting to think of what other things they can do (Gremlins?)

Don’t want to turn this into another spec thread for next year, but I doubt WB will allow Gremlins and they’re shifting the image of that IP into something a little more kid-friendly.

Yea. That's what murdy had said during the AQP tour in regards to the "forest of trees" scene. The trees are not ET trees sadly. They are new

They are? How so, just through toys or is there some kind of reboot in the works? I’ve never considered Gremlins for HHN, but that would be an incredible house

Tbf, they did allow it to have a minor extent of presence at their own Horror Made Here event, and they allowed Beetlejuice previously which I'd argue lands roughly in the same area in terms of being presented as family friendly. I think they'd probably be fine with Gremlins being at HHN so long as they didn't make it more violent than is presented in the film.
It's probably more just a question of cost balancing between the budget that would be required to build it vs the probably very steep licensing cost WB would demand. I imagine right now they just don't see it as enough of a draw for the general public to justify the financial risk.

I think @Freak is referring to the fact WB is doing things with the IP like putting the characters in stuff like the MultiVersus game and how they made the animated show Secrets of the Mogwai skew more towards younger kids. I imagine WB is thinking that if they lightly sand the edges off Gremlins, it’ll make it more appealing to a generation who didn’t grow up with it.
