I know its the writers but...come on they learned nothing from Infinity war? So all the heroes band together and win and then just peace out...they never talk? They let Wanda do whatever she wanted, they let cap's shield go to the an government agent, Wankanda got no back up, no one cares about the portal in New York during Spiderman and so on

Look, I'm not saying the post-Endgame stuff has been great and all - but there's a lot wrong here, with a lot of oversimplifications.

I believe it begins with Fantastic Four. It also hurts the MCU overarching story with the Majors debacle. They can’t control that…

Their stories haven’t been great thus far outside of Loki, Spider-Man, Deadpool…but they can’t be faulted for things outside of their control. This movie will sell…and it will sell big.

While that certainly didn't help, I would argue that Kang was already irredeemably hurt by Quantumania.

When your supposed next major big bad was easily defeated by Ant Man with no casualties to the good guys, you just can't take Kang seriously as the next big bad. He is simply not a threat, and that screws up any kind of overarching story because we now know that fact.

I dropped off mostly around Black Panther 2, but I've since seen Guardians 3 which was incredible and Deadpool 3 which was pretty good.

For the most part, the multiverse seems like the central idea, but every story has a different idea of what the multiverse is and none of these individual movies seem to connect in any meaningful way. Besides Thunderbolts, most of the Phase 4-5 movies have essentially been walled off from effecting the rest of the MCU. The Avengers as a team hasn't been a thing for a long time, just individual heroes and stories. I think you could probably just jump in for Doomsday and enjoy it fine enough. It's still a lot of old faces, and there are too many new heroes to really tell who is gonna be brought into the main crossover film. I think they might (or should) scrap a lot of the fluff characters from the last few phases. They should introduce each character and plot point again in the movie like they did for Infinity War, for people who missed a lot of the last few years.

If that's not the full primary cast, then that's a waste of a very strange promotional attempt, because most of the chatter now is "Where's so-and-so?" or "You mean Spider-Man isn't in it?!" and not active excitement for who was announced.

Though I think their presence would really help elevate DOOMSDAY's mostly B-level (or unproven, or nostalgia-fan-service-y) character roster.
