They honestly could have done anything and it would be cool but their choice is kinda mid compared to like sketches just based on the way it was advertised saying "Guests will embark on a journey of discovery, thrills and excitement in a world between worlds where breathtaking gardens, dancing fountains and stellar attractions inspired by astronomical and mythological elements create imaginative sensory delights."( Brian. G)

Phase 1 was an opening day park, apart from the fact the gardens will grow into something far more beautiful than they are now ( this is objective truth proven by 50+ years of theme parks in florida)

I can't remember what the official number is for this, but when you're spending around $6BN to get a theme park to the stage it is now you have to draw the line somewhere and decide to defer spending any more money on it until you open the doors and start to recoup.

The difference between Universal and other reactionary operators is they always had a plan for growth and additions I don't think anyone in this forum actually believes this park will be exactly the same as it is now in 3-5 years time.

Yup, it's a true mystery why Celestial Park doesn't have mountains and perpetual darkness. Like what are we doing here?

People are being way too harsh here. Even I was taken aback when seeing Celestial Park in person after reading all the hubbub about it and thinking to myself that it was just as much of an empty looking concrete wasteland as any other typical hub. That 4th picture is the one that looks the most like what I’d imagine a place called Celestial Park to look like.

Universal should be realistic as well and not hype it up as a world equal to the other 4. It’s a hub with a coaster, a carousel, and pretty lights at night.

We're reaching for crap to complain about. Like Jake S said, there are things to be critical about, but like, c'mon now.

It’s nice but I really don’t see why everyone jumped on him when he’s right. I’m sure he wasn’t saying “they should’ve built exactly this!” but the general vibe of those images is a lot closer to what I was thinking this would look like when everyone here was talking it up like some grand revolution of hub design that’s so much better than anything else. It’s nicer than 3 of Disney’s hubs in Orlando for absolute certainty but it’s not a huge breakthrough and definitely doesn’t feel like a park. Walking through most of it actually gives off the same vibe as the area between the entrances of Disneyland and California Adventure.

Everyone jumped on it because it's an AI image full of mountains, constant darkness, and trillions of dollars worth of theming.

NOT ONE person has hyped up Celestial Park to be what you're claiming they have been.

Yes everyone was talking about how cool and full of detail it would be when in reality most of it is empty space. I guess I was the only one to look at the images and think of it more as a vibe rather than “this is exactly what should’ve been built.”

I added more to the above post btw.

Are they going to rip up some of the concrete to add more planters?

Just keep in mind all that concrete is for a good reason— the park was designed to accommodate parades at some point. Unlike the other parks, there won’t have to be a lot of reworking of pathways and moving of stuff out of the way when they launch a parade. Better to have big, wide walkways to accommodate crowds and a parade than to have to take out trees and widen walkways.

I just don't get the revisionist takes now.

Everyone loved the concept art they released. The only difference between the concept art they released and what we got is the trees and landscaping needing to grow in.

Since Epic opened, EVERYONE has agreed - the trees need to grow, and it needs more shade for all that walking.
