At this point it might be easier to list the name of places that have not closed at city walk

I'm so confused...whats going on? Is Universal going to use parts of Citywalk for the hotel?

Like this is not normal over 7 Businesses have closed or will within 6 months

My hunch is it's similar to what's been happening at Downtown Disney but without the same fanfare. They're totally refreshing the tenant list in CityWalk and it'll be interesting to see what kind of spots they bring in as replacements.

All these closures are crazy, but nothing I'm bummed about other than nostalgia for "hey, I've walked past there a million times but never actually been inside." And honestly, I'm not surprised -- with the Olympics three years out, purging a lot of potentially dead weight from CityWalk and revitalizing it as best they can to entice the swell of people on the horizon just seems like a logical goal that goes hand in hand with the next phase of the park's life with F&F and whatever hugely marketable project may arise for 2028.

I have this feeling the escape rooms are going to be a flop, but it's at least a step in a right direction in terms of trying to return CityWalk to a more well-rounded district, and I can imagine if they plop a Korean BBQ place in there somewhere it'd be far more lucrative than skydiving in a tube or overpriced crepes.

I'm happy you guys gave me a heads up, its not perfect but I did film a walkthrough of Citywalk with the stores still up a few weeks back. So I'm grateful to the members here for always keeping us in the loop.

Does anyone know if the rumored hotels will have space for retail on their ground levels? That can serve as an "expansion" of citywalk.

I really wonder if NintendoLA gets resurrected if they do a CityWalk expansion like that.

A Monsters themed brewery would be cool, plus they could easily use the models from HHN bar coming to Vegas and Epic Universe stuff to subsidize the cost a little

I never purchased anything in Popcornopolis (and only even entered once for maybe 5 seconds), so I'm not really going to miss the business itself... but one thing I will miss is their very cool retro and vibrant signage.

I'd hope whatever replaces it has an equally cool sign, but I'm not exactly super optimistic about that.

EDIT: It'd be amazing if they just relocated that sign to another spot on Citywalk, like they have for so many of the other historical neon signs.

ADDITIONAL EDIT: How much longer do with think Billabong will be around?

From a grapevine on Reddit--the CityWalk Hollywood Purge is seemingly about to line up more victims to slash and kill.

Margaritavillie has been rumored to close before, so that's not all that shocking to me. Honestly, not that much on that list would be much of surprise, with the exception of Dodgers Clubhouse. That place seems to do pretty well, and is unique to LA.

But honestly, a lot of the rest of that is pretty mainstream.

And isn't Buca closing because the entire chain is bankrupt?
