My girlfriend loves hot dogs. I mean, i LIKE hot dogs but she actually asks to go out and get them pretty often (we live near 2 chains that do really great chili dogs) so when she saw Citywalk had a HOT DOG HALL OF FAME she actually accosted me, asking why i hadn't told her in an accusatory manner, and MADE ME stop.

After our 3rd year of going to Universal together (our 5 year anniversary was last week), i can gladly say we've eaten the entire 10-dog national menu. lol

We did the Jurassic Park one on my birthday a couple years ago, then the Back to the Future one in November for my husband's birthday. Escape rooms aren't very repeatable, so that's the only times we have gone.

Tried to hit their bar when we were there last for the JW IPA and it wasn’t open. They said they don’t even open it anymore really. Huge disappointment.

That's a real bummer, because their cocktails were shockingly great.

Yup. Permanently closed

I wonder if they purposely didn’t destroy the guts of The Groove or if they just left it that way to be cheap

The way it is now, it would not be hard to convert to a dinner show/bar/live music/ dance club/theater. All they did was enclose the downstairs corner bar and upstairs corner bar. The rest is hardly touched. Heck; the dance floor is still there.

I wonder if they purposely didn’t destroy the guts of The Groove or if they just left it that way to be cheap

The way it is now, it would not be hard to convert to a dinner show/bar/live music/ dance club/theater. All they did was enclose the downstairs corner bar and upstairs corner bar. The rest is hardly touched. Heck; the dance floor is still there.

I believe they've removing some of the beams of the giant cannopy behind CityWalk the past few months. Maybe they're building there?

Is it possible that the SNL comedy club got shot down from legal? I’ve got to imagine there’s concern about offending people

When Covid happened, Groove—> Escape Games. Red Coconut—> SNL Comedy.. Why’d they not pull the trigger?

Time passes, CityWalk Entertainment department makes Red Coconut much more popular than they ever expected, Escape Game flops. Would be a full circle moment if they end up replacing Movie Escape with Comedy

This is beyond impressive. I remember when it first opened and it was such a novel idea (and my brain is failing, but I think was the start of the Citywalk evolution). I don't think I've ever eaten there, but I did enjoy watching sports on the large monitor/screen over there. I think it's too hidden though (though I imagine some here like the hidden spots).

My theory was it died when Dead Coconut became popular and seasonal overlays are cheaper. But that's just a guess.

I hadn't noticed that and had to go back a few pages. I'm very intrigued by this. Blais is a great chef so I'm interested to see what he is doing. Fatone doing something is interesting and I'm surprised something hasn't been done sooner considering his ties to the area and to UO (as well as that he went to HS across the street). I just learned he's gotten into the restaurant business in the last week or so, so this feels like a natural fit.
