Adding more onto how the story and lore of Darkmoor is rather captivating, here's the biggest mystery...

Victoria may not be a Frankenstein.

Something I'm worried about for unchained, is that the story is hard to understand with how much is going on (based on what I've heard.)
If anyone has ridden it, do you guys feel like it's easy enough to keep up with everything that's happening?

I felt like I didn’t get the story necessarily, but I was so overwhelmed by the visuals and animatronics it didn’t matter. It was a fire hose of overstimulation, and I can’t wait to do it again.

I mean, I didn't get the story for Haunted Mansion until after over 60 or so rides. :grinning:

And, even then, once I did, I found out that the story was made up by fans!

TL;DR - I don't think it matters.

This is what I was worried about, do you still have enough time to at least take in what's happening?

It's simple enough on the surface layer to follow. Victoria wants to control monsters; the ultimate prize is Drac. he escapes, and chaos ensues.

Yea I was about to say. It’s pretty simple. Drac escapes. He lets out the others. Chaos.

The basic premise is set up pretty well in the both preshows. The first explains the ride vehicles while the second explains the basic story. On the ride Victoria tells you she's initiating the experiment to control Dracula and obviously that doesn't go as planned. The lore behind it all can be what's missed but it's not necessary for the ride itself.

After things go awry is when it can be overwhelming because a lot of things start happening once the monsters get loose, but that's kind of the point. There isn't much "story" until the very end, if you can count the final 1-2 scenes as story as it wraps up the ride. It will probably take a few rides to catch everything that happens in the later half but it's a good chaos to get lost in.

I'd recommend not fretting about it.

Does anyone know the main issues that have been causing the extended downtime for monsters this past week or so? Is there a certain amount of animatronics that have to be down for them to not run the ride because I would assume the ride vehicles should be reliable since it's similar tech to FJ.

Show quality. So far, show quality seems to be deteriorating throughout the day, and they'll close it once a certain number of effects/figures are down.

Definitely recommend doing this early in the day.

There's quite a few animatronics and moments that I imagine Universal would rather have the ride delayed to fix than bad show.

I do wonder if they can lower Victoria down for the pre show?

Saw a video of B-Mode, and she just stood there frozen as a version of her appeared on the screen above.

Why is the art in Curse of the Werewolf so hokey?

It doesn't fit anything else in the entire park. And it looked pretty much the same in the concept art, so it's not like it was budget cut from what we can tell. I can't wrap my head around what drove them to put this in one of the least tacky, most authentically beautiful parks on earth

I've finally seen some extensive coverage of the merchandise in this land, and it's diabolical how much money they could be getting me to spend here. 8-year-old me would have completely lost his mind seeing shelves and shelves of Classic Monsters items... and 38-year-old me is still pretty impressed!

The 6-inch action figure line, which appears to be variants of either NECA or Jada toys releases, but with exclusive/custom paint applications and packaging, looks terrific. Overpriced at nearly $50? Yes. Will I be buying several? Also yes.

Also very smart of Universal to have a range of options for all tastes: there's the cutesier stuff to make the characters more approachable for younger kids, the Dark Universe-specific design stuff, and then the traditional Classic Monsters depictions.

I'm betting they'll install curtains to cover her up when there are issues.
