It’s not the money, it’s not to cut down on “bragging” - it’s that they’re trying to provide a legitimate service that, after 3-5 years, gets gummed up with so many exploiters that they have to hit the reset button to flush the system.
For example… if I were to break my foot (knock on wood), my accommodation from Disney should not be DAS. It should be a free wheelchair for the day because I have a short-term disability and I don’t actually need to buy a wheelchair for day-to-day use but spending a day at a theme park is a lot of walking. Queues are ADA accessible, I can wait in my wheelchair with everyone else.
