Uhhh once? But how many times you hear of the whole boat coming down with widespread illness, or contaminated food, or no power we ran out of fuel.

Gotta side with you here. If I'm gonna risk my life and safety on vacation, I'd much rather pay $100 a day for it and strap myself into a steel deathtrap operated by undertrained and overworked, irresponsible teenagers

I'm not saying I agree with them, but that's not that great a comparison. A cruise lasts for days, a flight only lasts for a few hours. Also, you could technically leave a flight, as long as you have a parachute.

It isn't?

You have no control over a ship just as much as the flight. A cruise has several stops, so if you ever feel the need to bail...get off at the next port.

And you can leave a ship at any time, just need to make sure you know how to swim..

Point is, freak accidents occur.

Well he does hate to fly...

I have only been on a gambling cruise, for a company Xmas party, I found that I did not enjoy not being able to leave when I wanted and very frustrating. Totally different from a cruis ship, I know but you get one chance to make a first impression.

^I know that there are people out there who genuinely dislike cruises (like it's fair to just not like doing something else) but I find it really depends on the cruise experience. Should someone say they don't like theme parks if they've only ever been to their local county fair. No. Because there are better options out there thy simply haven't tried. If you've only cruised on subpar ships with terrible service, food, etc., then you shouldn't really say you hate all cruises. Great fleets like Royal Caribbean, Disney, Norwegian, so on and so on offer cruise experiences that are well worth the time and money.

Yeap not to mention no Casinos, and in all honesty the adult entertainment you speak of is to go to the spa or drink, otherwise you're paying TRIPLE the cost of a Carnival cruise and getting less of a product.

Thanks but no thanks

So apparently some woman lost her cell phone on a Disney cruise, but luckily, a crew member found it. However, this crew member in question decided to keep the phone and take pictures with it, capturing photos of his name tag, girlfriend, and a crew party that even included the captain! Unluckily for him, the phone used iCloud to upload the photos to the woman's Facebook, which she sent to Disney Cruise Line to find this guy.

From Screamscape
Disney Cruise Line - (5/25/12) For those wondering what the latest word was about Nelson, who is now perhaps the most famous Disney Cruise Line employee, DCL officials have confirmed that the iPhone has been recovered and that the employee (no name give) has been placed on ‘administrative leave and restricted him from guest areas while we investigate.” So in other words… I think our friend Nelson may be visiting the Captain’s Brig. From what I understand, all cruise ships, even the Disney ones, have a Brig in case of emergencies. (As well as a Morgue, but that’s a story for another day...)
Too bad they took the iPhone from him, I’d love to see a picture of what the Disney Wonder’s Brig looks like.

(5/23/12) In what may be the best story of the day, a woman who took a cruise on the Disney Wonder in April had her iPhone stolen. However, due to the iCloud service, all the photos taken with the phone… even those after it was stolen, have begun to be automatically posted to her Facebook account this week. In a moment of brilliance, Katy McCaffrey put 20 of these photos into a public gallery labeled “Stolen iPhone Adventure” where we get several clear pictures of Nelson, the Disney Cruise Line CM who ended up in possession with Katy’s iPhone, Nelson’s pregnant girlfriend, as well as his fellow CM friends on board the Disney Wonder. She also contacted the Disney Cruise Line and has forwarded them all the photos as well.
I have a feeling that our friend Nelson may be in for a world of hurt… unless he walks the plank before the Disney Wonder comes into it’s next port. Stay tuned… I don’t think this is the end of the story by a long shot.

When are people in the theme park business going to realize that taking iPhones always lead to getting caught

So this is pretty cool.

If you‘re a fan of Pixar Animation Studios’ award-winning films, you are going to love the new offerings announced today for Disney Cruise Line’s seven-night California Coastal voyages this fall.

pxr123234SMALL.jpg

During these voyages, Disney Cruise Line guests will be able to interact with and explore the world of Pixar and their beloved characters while the Disney Wonder sails to popular port cities along the coast of California. Special entertainment and offerings designed for both children and adults include:

Artists and filmmakers from Pixar Animation Studios will provide an inside look at the creative process used to develop an animated feature which includes a look at the making of Pixar’s newest release “Brave” and a sneak peek at footage of future Pixar films.

Storyboards, character sketches, environment paintings, maquettes and other inspiring concept art used to design Pixar films will be on display in a special art exhibition at sea. This collection of art has only been seen outside of Pixar Animation Studios when displayed at leading art museums around the world.

Guests will be able to enjoy the entire Pixar library of films while onboard, including a selection of delightful animated shorts. The voyages coincide with the theatrical premiere of “Finding Nemo 3D,” which guests can enjoy at either of the two theatres equipped with state-of-the-art Dolby 3D projection systems.

For the first time, more than a dozen Pixar characters will meet with and greet guests throughout the cruise including Mr. Incredible, Remy, Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear. There will be a special Pixar-themed dance parties in the Atrium Lobby and a host of other opportunities for guests to reconnect with their favorite Pixar pals.

Guests sailing on the Pixar-themed voyages will also receive a commemorative lithograph created by Pixar artist and “Brave” co-director/screenwriter, Steve Purcell. These Pixar-inspired California Coastal cruises set sail Sept. 16, Sept. 23, Sept. 30 and Oct. 7 from the Port of Los Angeles.

Which Pixar offerings on Disney’s California Coastal cruises are the most enticing to you – character encounters…artist and filmmaker presentations and sneak peeks…the onboard film fest or the Pixar art gallery?

My family wants to know if they do anything special for birthdays?
