i think it’s fair game for criticism — we didn’t force them to put it on stage early. but I also just don’t care that much. it looks fine.

So I’ll be visiting in January; if I want to ride Haunted Mansion and Tiana’s I’ll have to get a separate VQ, one at 7:00 and one at 12:00 if I’m not mistaken?
I think I’ll get Tiana’s first before it gets chilly

Correct, if both attractions still have virtual queues, which would surprise me. Keep in mind that Haunted Mansion will close to de-Holiday itself in mid January.

Both rides are VQ atm, but I expect haunted mansion being stand by in December. I’ll be January 1st so Haunted Mansion Holiday will still be there :)

Concept art had two doors in the front with a display inbetween. The shop now has just one big door. Just pointing it out

The New Encanto and Deadpool shows are really fun

The Coco show was good but didn't love it as much as the other show shows.

I still think they need to use the Peir stage over the walking area near Goofy's its just soooo limited on standing space compared to the Peir stage

Small World Holiday is back and amazing as ever.

Tia's was down half the day on Friday and down a lot on the weekend from post's I saw...so to me it was a failed launch but the parks are PACKED. So Disney does note care

I will say if you want Entertainment go to DCA, the amount of shows are amazing and make sure one day is a weekday so you can see the Encanto and Coco show if interested

I got to walk the area near by that they changed, it was a good change much more room to walk and have shows like the bootstappers

Excited for the Q to open because it also looks wonderful, also they are for sure not done with the HM store at the end of the ride more as been added to the building

I'm also hearing when it works the Q for Tia's is quicker then when I went in previews/first day. Hope they can keep that up

The new queue is very nice and a good addition for busy days. It's leagues better than the previous solution of temporary ropes. That said, psychologically, it does feel like it cut a lot of open space out so now things will feel closer than ever, but once Google Maps does a fresh satellite, I'd like to see how much they really used. Disneyland has ever been a place of tradeoffs anyway.

I've walked by the new Haunted Mansion store a few times and there's a lot of people who have said negative things about it while I was standing there. Now, granted they are probably passholes (or is it Tragic Key holders now?) but admittedly it does look weird when you are coming over from the Bayou. I don't hate the look, but I think it just feels out of scale with the mansion and makes it look too small.

As you walk toward Bayou Country, the view of the Haunted Mansion gift shop is of a very large, boring "suburban" roof. Here is a visualization of proposed additions of Victorian Gothic Revival dormers, a cupola, and overgrown ivy to add thematic detail and transition to the natural environment of Bayou Country better.

You have no idea how happy it makes me to see it on the regular wait times list. A consistent hour wait any time of day but on the list regardless. :lmao:

I was there in August and was limited to 1 ride per day because of VQ when I'm used to doing it 3 times at least on a visit. Be there again for Christmas week. Wish me luck!

Spent the first day of 4 at DLR.

Some initial thoughts as this is my first time back in about 10 years.

DL is so congested everywhere you turn, even though wait times are not that bad compared to WDW the streets are just packed to the brim at all times.

Ride availability is poor, seems like almost every ride has an hour of downtime at some point of the day.

Genie plus/ multi experience (whatever this is called now) is an amazing experience and worth every penny. It works even better paired with the poor ride availability if you know how to game the system. I ended up with 3-4 multi use passes due to rides being down during the time slot. This is something very easy to game if you pay attention to an attraction being down and look to see if there is a window available in the next 30 minutes, you are more than likely going to get the multi use pass, there is a tiering system however i find it to be on the generous side (downtime at web-slingers allowed me to ride Indiana Jones later at night)

The Funny thing about Disneyland walk ways being busy are they have tried to make them wider from Main Street to Toontown Disney has widen walk ways and even closed stores/moved the old tarzan tree house to make way people to be able to walk....also the new HM Q is apart of that effort

Also fun fact most days Disneyland doesn't sell out...they refuse to because they only allow so many Magic Keys and since I've not seen in years tickets sell out for a day besides maybe new years the parks aren't event 100% full because Disney just favors ticketed guests but still can't sell that option out

Having created the Photoshop image of the Haunted Mansion gift store above with dormer windows and a cupola, I was interested and pleased to watch a new Jim Shull YouTube video last night where he mentions that Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris was conceived to have a carriage house in the queue...with dormers and a cupola.

The good thing is that these additions, each the size of a large dog house, could be built off-site and forklifted into position and installed literally overnight. An easy and inexpensive way to add some architectural interest to the very boring roof.

90's Night is Back and here are the other events for the Disneyland Resort coming in 2025.

Two Months or the OG Soarin...nice.

Halloween and Hoildays are starting about the same time as this year.

The 70th...I assume until the first weekend in August?

Also more on the 70th. We will have one nighttime parade at Disneyland and one day time parade at DCA. Also a new WOC that will have the goofy movie in it in some way which is cool. Also not sure I like the new Mickey costume but do like the colors around the castle
