Hopefully the Trend will keep going but Its a forced off Season for Disneyland...because there is no way this park is close to selling out but people can't make reservations so for the guests its kind of great. You get to come into Disneyland and get on most rides within 30 mins (with a few exceptions like Cars and GOTG)

I ride GOTG almost every day after school and I tend to get on it in 30 mins or less most of the time. Just don't hit it at peak times (noon, 6-8pm) and you'll be all good as long as they're running all three shifts. Just a little tip.

I feel like "as long as they're running all three shafts" is the big caveat here

DISNEYLAND HANDCRAFTED gets a very strong recommendation. I think it's the greatest look at the creation of the park (in visual media) to date. Very inspiring stuff.

I just finished it-- great to see such rare footage at last. I had issues with the colorization of some of the black and white footage though. I get people want to see color, but I know a lot of that was B&W and had color added for this show. It almost gives it an AI look when they sharpen and color the film like that.

My favorite part was watching the guy smoke a cigarette while sitting on the star in between the Mark Twain's smokestacks.

For those without a Disney+ account, the full documentary is available on YouTube. Highly recommended!

Wow. That was EXCELLENT. Thanks for sharing......I actually enjoyed the colorization. After all, that's
the real way everything looked. That adds an extra dimension. I had seen a lot of black and white photos
and videos over the years, but the colorization takes it to a higher level. This is not like a black & white
movie where the lack of color was essential to the story......This production is the ultimate story. Well done.
Bravo !!!

You have to love the article emphasizing the "high" percentage of labor costs right before mentioning the hoteliers that benefit from the service haven't increased their funding in years. So, so good.

Well, the hotels there are going to have to do something, because there's a lot of people that need to be conveyed, and the ease-of-use of that system (plus the proximity of the drop-off point to the Esplanade) was a giant selling point for staying at some of those places that aren't in the immediate (i.e. 5 - 10 minute) walking distance area around the resort.

The hotels hopefully will

But Disney if anything likes this because it makes the hotels on resort “better”

More importantly, it means more people paying Disney $40 to park in one of their garages.

I'd think more people staying along Harbor would opt for rideshare instead of renting a car (in the absence of some kind of bussing).

I’m thinking more about people who drive to Disneyland for their vacation, of whom there are many.

Gonna post something to get off my chest. After seeing WDW adding all of their coasters on the other coast and the Asian parks getting a new coaster (Spiderman, Space Mountain 2.0) I think it's fair to ask: When will DLR finally add a new coaster?

I mean, come on. DLR hasn't had a new coaster since DCA opened....months before 9/11 happened. I'm not counting the Space Mountain rebuild. I'm thankful that DCA is getting all these rides, but I think DLR is long....and I mean long overdue for a new coaster (Or two!)

"But Freak, they don't have the space!" Listen, DCA is adding three E-ticket rides without replacing anything except one outdated dark ride. They have more space than you think, they just gotta be a little creative. For starters they can close that freaking awful Web Slingers ride. They can have track go over the Avengers Campus. While that might be quite enough space, they can tear down the Disney Jr theater and use that space for the Spiderman plot for a new coaster.

Also Galaxy's Edge. If they're willing to tear down that warehouse behind Smuggler's Run, they can use that space and the space behind Olga's for a very large coaster. If they can't use that warehouse space, they still have just enough space for something like Tokyo's Space Mountain they're building. It's only just a hair bigger square footage-wise than the original! If they really wanted to get creative to maximize the space, they could always cut out one carousel in Smuggler's Run to make room. It would reduce capacity slightly, but I doubt people would miss it.

Another idea they could do is have DLR's version of Villain's Kingdom. They could have the land take up the FL theater and go behind GE and give us that Malefecant coaster!

I could go on and this post is getting too long already, but my point is DLR really needs a new coaster and I hope that take priority once the DCA projects are well established. I'm hoping Disney will pay attention to F&F's inevitable success at USH.

my guess is the next coaster for DLR will have to go in one of the DLForward spots. It will probably be family/medium sized, but whether or not it is indoor or outdoor will be anyones guess.

Oh absolutely, but I think they should maximize the space they have already before thinking about using the DLR Forward spots.

I agree and I think the need for DCA to have a themed coaster is more urgent than the timing of expanding across Disneyland Dr.

Not using the Spider-Man IP for a coaster at DCA is theme park malpractice, haha.

Web Slingers could easily be traded in to become the queue/load/unload with an elevated launch tube above Pym's to a gravity building to the east, which would add some kinetics to the land and block the view of the back of Animation Academy. Win-win-win. (A swooping canopy like Tron but with a Spidey-hex pattern would look cool and web-like above Pym's.)
