Is Toy Story Playland not in the cards anymore? I hope it's not. It's nice to look at but that's about it. Just a few gussied up, low capacity carnival rides.

This would be the first I'm hearing of this.

Does free space equate to attractions though? I mean, I look at Universal Studios and think about what they have done with Diagon Alley and Springfield and I just think Disney has got to be thinking the return on investment is aided by shops and restaurants.

Not that I have any insights, but I could see how an area can have one ride while taking up a lot of space in order to be an immersive experience that still aides with capacity since folks will enjoy exploring the area and possibly spend more than they had planned as something catches their eye.

I think you are touching on the biggest problem for Disney to bring Star Wars to life. The movie series contains a huge amount of locations but almost non are very fleshed out. Compare it to Potter and 8 books and 9 movies are centered around a handful locations that are really very well fleshed out. I would go out of my mind trying to come up with environments that resonate with the fans besides the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star and provide that kind of depth. Maybe that is why they would go for the new movies who have maybe a more central location that are important during the movie and not just one of many.

I thought the rumor was a giant "Dagobah" area. Which would fit well in the Hot Florida Swamp weather.

My only complaint is that it would feel somewhat similar to Avatar's "rain forest" in space area.

I'm trying to get caught up here. The way I understand it is that Hollywood Adventure will play with the concept of "going from the streets of Hollywood into the incredible worlds that it produces". Is this correct or am I way off?

If that is the direction Disney is taking, I can picture a scenario where they keep the base of the park largely the same and build mock studios that will serve as the entrances to these lands. For example, you would pass through the Lucasfilm studio to get to Star Wars Land. This way, the streets of Hollywood will have the same function as London does to Diagon Alley.

Toys story land was announced looks to be a little bit more fleshed out then the "carnival" attractions people have been saying.

Yup. Slinky Dog family coaster and little green aliens spinner. That's it but hey.. definitely not carnival rides like over in Paris. Exciting stuff.

I want Syndrome's Lair!

That would make great use of the LMA area, add much needed water to the park, and you could take a modified Peoplemover out to the Volcano Island.

Plot would be Elastigirl and Violet have to save Mr. Incredible and Dash, all while taking care of Jack Jack.

Girl Power!

My perfect setup:
-Star Wars expands into the parking lot
-Muppets and its area stays, themed entirely to Muppets.
-Indy Stunt show becomes an Indy ride
-Streets of America/LMA becomes Incredibles
-Art of Disney Animation and backstage buildings become Toontown, connecting to Sunset Boulevard.
-Fantasmic gets updated to make it wholly original to DHS.

Does anyone know if the front of the park will change at all? Hollywood Blvd (and Sunset) are both beautiful, but if they ever plan on doing a permanent Fireworks show again, the capacity on Hollywood right now is absolute crap. It was never meant for fireworks shows or anything like that. The past two years or so it's become painfully obvious that the crowding on Hollywood for sunset is really bad during fireworks and the buildings actually get in the way of the fireworks.

Not saying that it's a huge problem, but if the park is going to handle a lot of extra guests down the road with Star Wars, that could be an issue they will have to face.

I don't see them going the permanent fireworks route, but I do hope Hollywood Boulevard is overhauled in the future. While the exteriors of the stores are all gorgeous, the innards are more or less 90's era Disney store levels.

I would love for Pizza Planet to become a Muppets restaurant seeing as Pizza Planet will likely be moving to TS Land.

Are we sure Pizza Planet is moving to TS Land? Doesn't seem like it would fit the theme of being toy sized.

With that being said, yea, Pizza Planet should become a Muppets QS place, and Mama Melrose should become the old Gonzo pizza parlor concept

You have to think though, even with the park technically not having a fireworks show, it has Season of the Force in "Early Spring" until SWW, both events will hold fireworks on weekends, and then Frozen, which if they continue the event next year, goes along for 3 months or so with a nightly show. Plus 4th and NYE of course.

Point is, I almost feel like part of the street needs to be reconfigured to make the actual street larger to allow for more guest space. That would be a very large undertaking though, would have to prove worth it.

I'm just assuming they'll try to shoe-horn it in some how given it's the most recognizable eatery from the films. But again, it would be severely out of place in this "Toy-sized world" they are trying to create.

Also, maybe don't even turn Pizza Planet into a Muppet QS. Maybe turn it into a Muppet M&G area, which would actually be unique.

If it even closes. Martin says it all depends on how well the new show does.

So the Earful Tower is right where Toy Story land is going. Are we to assume that the Tower will be gone from the park?
