I'm behind on the DHS rumors but is Indy happening now? I always imagined they would wait until the inevitable next Indy movie releases to time the land.

All 4 long running shows could do with either replacing or an upgrade

Fantasmic - Major Refurb
Indy - Replace
Mermaid - Cute show, but ancient...replace
B&TB - Refresh or Replace

If they could get rid of Frozen too and but something worthwhile and accessible to all in the new show area around Rock n Rollercoaster that would be great too.

A complete, and relatively cheap refresh of DHS' entertainment lineup would breathe some life into the park whilst it plunders along pre Star Wars.

Not yet but when it gets the green light they will have the space. Might just bite the bullet and get all the growing pains over with now.

The biggest thing I'm excited for when star wars opens is the return of fireworks being launched within a few hundred yards of where you're standing.

That's not happening. They built that fireworks launchpad for permanent use.

Besides, the old fireworks were lunched from where TSL is going.

I heard it was long term but not permanent. There is an area towards the back of the park between TSL and SWL that is perfect for a fireworks launch pad.

Sorry, I meant that once star wars is built, we will be closer to this permanent location. But after looking at the second picture, it looks like TSL will be closer to the launch location.

I'm a pyro and love getting as close as safely possible.

There is no where left in park besides rooftops for fireworks launching unless you change the location.

Yes, TSL will probably be the best location to view those fireworks from. Of course you unfortunately miss the rest of the show.

SWL will be harder to see as you will be surrounded by large rock-work.

Why not the rooftop of the sound stage where one of the star wars rides is going? I don't know anything btw.

Fireworks can be shot off from any rooftop... but shooting off fireworks from a rooftop generally means you have to close of the area for about 30 mins to water down the area and for the show. TSMM used to close every night for the old fireworks shows in the park because of the launch location.

Also, if you were to put fireworks on the SW rooftop, it would change the center point of the show as SWL is no where near the Chinese Theater.

Very good points! I guess we're stuck with half a sky of fireworks for the foreseeable future. Thank goodness the Chinese Theater is the BEST canvas for projection mapping that I have seen yet.

I'm way too excited about the new parking expansion. I've had nightmarish parking experiences over at DHS back when Osborne was still going on. But then once you got inside the park, it was like nothing. Everything must have crowded themselves into the Streets of America for the lights.

The DHS parking lot is TINY and the main exit being at a stop light along a main road (at least for now, before it moves) has always made things a mess getting out of the lot at park close.

First sign of the end...

CM access to the Buena Vista Drive autoplaza ends March 28th. They have to enter from the front going forward.

What if the new fireworks launch location has been put there because it will be nice and centered for a show as seen from SWL? It seems very plausible that a new night time fireworks and projection show will be shown in the land. This could be the plan, as the center of the backdrop of the land puts it in the perfect place.
