Well Universal did need a kidney stone facilitator ride. Can't let Disney have all the medical advancements.

Somehow this ride has gotten even rougher. JESUS. So painful... A shame really because I love the Japan one but sorry. I don't think I'll be going back on this ride any time soon till they fix it!

I really don't know how people are saying this thing is rough? No one in my party thought so either?

For me personally it's really rough. I've hurt my back on it both times I've gone

The body is weird lol. I've never found it even vaguely rough on my two rides, but most of my friend group who literally sat in the same car as me did. Meanwhile, I have come off Stardust with a headache before (only one of 5 rides though).

It was rougher than I expected but it’s keeping to the theme of jumping off the track and landing again.

You're the same as me - I don't find DK as rough as people say.

Yet I have come off of Stardust with a headache. More so on Green than Yellow but both sides affect me.

So weird lol. I've ridden Stardust Racers 6 times and never once gotten a headache at all or been in any pain

Nice! I wish I could be like that, then I would get right back in line again. Some of my coworkers have ridden multiple times in a row, and I was like, how are they doing that? Lol. :)

Anyway, sorry to go off track a little. Back to DK! The first couple times I rode, I had no idea who Tiki Tong was, haha. I thought he was missing in the ride. Then I finally found him.

People will say I am crazy, but I think DK is a better coaster than Stardust.

DK reminds me of ripsaw falls. It has a giant facade which is used more as a backdrop, it focuses more on the ride system rather than big set pieces, has limited motion props and AAs, and is mainly outside. Still fills a perfect spot in this park’s lineup though

And the slightly janky execution.

I spoke with a TM about it yesterday. I didn’t personally ride as it was broken each time I tried to get on it, but I asked about the roughness and he said it can vary significantly based on weight distribution due to the arm of the vehicle. If it’s a full vehicle with heavier folks, it could be pretty smooth (for a mine cart ride), but if there’s lighter people or even absent a rider or two in the car, it can be very rocky and unenjoyable.

Doesn’t explain why it’s not the case in Japan. I guess they possibly tailored the ride system differently at Epic? Maybe they knew it’s a slower family coaster and they wanted to make it bumpy so it feels more authentic and fun. Question is how easily fixable that is or not.

Now that makes a lot of sense.
