Considering how the movie ends, its financial success, and the crazy nostalgia surge for the IP as a whole these past few years, it's looking likely that we'll be getting a Shrek 5. Wouldn't it be ironic if - of all the DreamWorks properties - it's Shrek that finally bumps out Kung Fu Panda, and they make a whole new Shrek experience to take over the theater around the same time the sequel hits that incorporates Puss, Kitty, etc.? We've all spent years wondering what would/could/should replace KFP, from Dragons to Trolls to The Bad Guys, that it'd be hilarious if it all ends up with the ogre and his friends coming back home.

I have always had a gut feeling that in some way Shrek would come back to the DWT at some point.

They’d be smart to have this open alongside SNW. Puss N Boots film would draw crowds for sure.

Don’t ask me what took me so long to see it, but I finally saw the masterpiece that was Puss in Boots 2.

I want a Puss in Boots overlay for this right the heck NOW. Are they ever going to put a new film in here?

I’d love that

Puss in boots new set style makes it perfect for the theater, though I’d also be down for bad guys as well

This theory makes a LOT of sense considering the Magic Mirror is already in the preshow.

They wont because of costs but Shrek is years away....would be nice for Puss in Boots or Bad Guys to get a show for 3ish years...they can always add them back that is literally why they made the theater as is

And since we lost 2 shows and WW is now down...might be time to consider using this space better

Well, with Shrek 5 now official for summer of 2026, I'm still more than willing to bet Shrek will be "coming home" in the next few years to finally replace Kung Fu Panda.

With USH being in a drought for new attractions since SNW opened, they can open the F&F coaster early 2026 and then a new Shrek show in the DWT in summer for a one two punch.

That would be great and preferred IMO. But If this hypothetical new DWT film will pull heavily from Shrek 5, they may not want to release it a year earlier if it contains heavy spoilers for said movie.

The last one was after the first film

This could be a fun prequel or just a side story since pandas film was confirmed by the movies director to not be cannon to the films

Had no wait & had enough time to do this. Sitting in the A/C felt nice. It's still a fun attraction, despite my wish they'd fulfill the "flex-space" aspect hype & rotate out the attraction film (I understand that seat programming isn't the easiest)

In other news, I totally dozed off during this & woke up at the end with Po defeating Kang  That heat had me drained.

Wild Robot would also be beautiful.

There’s genuinely no excuse why they couldn’t have a new film here for 2025. Wild.

Well, in Universal's defense, securing resources to create a new DWT film and then reprogramming the theater for it can be kind of costly. So I image they want films shown in the DWT to last for a certain period of time to ensure both Universal and the artists who created the media feel they got their moneys worth.

That said, there is a perfect opportunity to do a new Shrek film with Shrek 5 coming out in 2026. Open the F&F coaster and a new Shrek DWT film in 2026 for a one two punch to make up for the fact we are getting nothing new at USH next year.

I mean, it is a flex theater that has hosted several shows, including Late Night with Chucky and the Blumhouse Behind the Screams thing. It's also been used for non-public, employee-driven events.

I get you guys are antsy for a new daytime show, but Kung Fu Panda still gets solid attendance and GSATs.
