Are both sides functional now? Last weekend when I was there, it had consistent 45min+ waits all weekend. I thought it was the DreamWorks Land effect but turns out only 1 side was operating.

That's a long wait for E.T. How much of it was outdoors vs. in the forest?

I could easily do 40 minutes in the forest!

Both sides work... whether or not they choose to run both is a different story lol

Usually early morning/late afternoon they'll run just one side (even though there's demand, and they should run both sides).

I do get frustrated with universal as they seem to think that 40+ minutes waits on every ride are acceptable and seem to bring down ops when they can possibly get below that 40 minute wait. With Dreamworks opening that area is going to be more popular and both sides should be open.

Can someone point out to me where exactly the plussing and upgrades to this ride have been? Looked janky as ever today (not in a bad way, in its old charming way…but still janky). I noticed two new things in the queue: crisp astronaut audio in the queue and some sort of lighting effect that I think mirrors ET running through the forest.

Other than that…I got nothing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(and the fog effects in the Green Planet were off which was kind of a bummer).

Compared to what the ride's state was 1-2 years ago, it was improved.

The ride still needs a major overhaul with new animatronics/effects/projections sometime after Epic. I'm no longer worried about ET being removed, Universal just showed us the power of nostalgia, so hopefully a major refurb is in the works at some point in the next 5 years.

Funny because I rode yesterday with someone who hadn't in a while and they were impressed with how things were getting fixed.

But to add onto RBLX - they also fixed up Botanicus. A lot of the work is noticeable in the Green Planet; with figures and effects that have been off/broken now working.

If you hadn't ridden in 20 years, it's like the same ride lol

If you watched it slowly decay over two decades, the upgrades over the past year or so has brought it back to its former glory.

(Sans the fog in dying planet scene and one jeep driving forward, of course, but one can still hold out hope for those.)
