I can see this very easily leaning into the "Beetlejuice dinner party sculpture" lane but I hope it lands somewhere more moody and interpretive

Also to add to this:

- El Artista is inspired by stuff like Gothic, Dead End, Graveyard Games.

- Has some effects that were used in Graveyard Games.

- One of the new special effects involves ghosts walking through walls.

This house was certainly one of the more intriguing ones when it appeared in the rumor mill, so I'm very glad it's confirmed!

The theme has some killer potential in both its art direction and atmosphere; it's a nice spin on the traditional haunted house which I don't think they've done in a while. (While there was Haunting of Hill House in 2021, I think the last original traditional haunted house was what...2012's Dead End?) This is right up my alley and to no surprise this one is gonna' be high up in my anticipated rankings, though there might be some serious competition up there, just gotta' wait and see.

I thought for sure this was a Hollywood house. I guess it might be next year!

@Legacy is the location for this house on the HNN map (they said it's in SS22) accurate? I feel like it's not

I think it's very well possible this house is in SS22 as rumored, especially looking back and seeing that soundstage held Legendary Truth: The Wyandot Estate.

Totally anecdotal but passing by backstage the other day the elephant doors were open for 22 and what I saw inside (earthy walls with large roots) looked like one of the pictures they revealed

I wonder how the Hispanic elements will be incorporated if any. or what will be used in that regard.

Oh another thing, at the panel they said the ENTIRE cast will be Latinx. Pretty amazing. This house is easily now my most anticipated for HHN 34, all the people behind the scenes have been praising it so much and from all the details they revealed at the panel this is definitely HOTY material.

Graveyard Games inspiration, huge scale, beautiful scenes, interpretive scares in a standard haunted house setting.

If they hit with this, it could be an all-timer for me.

Did they say why, or how that fits into the story? I wouldn’t think there’d be many latinx people in 19th century Spain.

I'm excited for this one! Sounds like the set design is phenomenal. And who doesn't love a tortured artist?

This sounds interesting.

Would it be something new or accomplished using something like the Musion effect/Pepper's ghost?

I can see a situation where you see a ghost or monster from a painting go through the wall and then the real one appears close to you in real life. Sounds like a good opportunity for misdirections!

it definitely matters yes. very very much so. it definitely will matter to me. makes s huge difference.
because the people only being ghosts will mean a very good thing with costumes and make up.
if all of the cast are paintings and ghosts or sculptures then it will be amazing.

but if some of the cast were staff or humans, it wouldn't be as cool. I've never been a fan of human roles. never been a fan of victims either.
