Which is why they will be quick to open a Donkey Kong themed playground that's about the size of Camp Jurassic USH and a HTTYD spinner for those kids that don't like heights, are scared of rollercoasters, don't like getting wet, are too inpatient to sit for a show, and are antisocial.

Yep I remember that in Alicia’s video when talking about DK.

Personally I feel that should’ve been there from the start however better late than never.

My wishlist:
  1. Monsters expansion first with the creatures boat ride.
  2. Second FB attraction.
  3. Luigi’s Mansion.
  4. Berk dark ride/simulator.

Wonder when we can realistically expect them to break ground in an expansion. 2027?

Depending on how things go I can see them breaking ground in 2026. They can using it during an earnings call by saying “Based on Epic over exceeding our expectations in the first year we will be breaking ground on an expansion to increase capacity as soon as possible.”

Honestly? Quiet breaking ground on something by end of the year is plausible. Especially if it's like "DK playground" or a flat for Berk (better not touch my flying simulator idea expansion plot though!!!).

Didn't people say a Mexican restaurant was opening next year?

The Mexican/Italian restaurant is already complete on the outside. It is the building to the right by IoB

From the reviews coming in for Dark Universe, it sounds like the land is feeling "too small" for some. Many in this thread have noted the demand for this theme/land probably exceeds the scale it was built.

I know that many people do not like jump scares, but for many others, jump scares are exactly what they want out of their "horror" entertainment. So one idea to relatively quickly add some incremental attraction capacity to Dark Universe (and the park in general) would be to add a walk-through experience in Dark Universe -- something on the scale of Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through or the tunnels at Tom Sawyer's Island. This dark, claustrophobic walkthrough (into a mausoleum and through catacombs filled with mummified cadavers) could be tucked into the location highlighted here and include mechanical and sensory jump scares, satisfying that craving.

I like this idea, heck I think a covered indoor area like Knockturn could work well here to provide a nighttime experience throughout the day.

When Starlander mentioned a little indoor catacombs walkthrough area i was like.... WAIT? Are we NOT getting that? Wasn't there concept art of a meet n greet area for characters that was inside some type of crypt or mausoleum?

I was hoping they'd have a spooky holding area/walkthrough for whatever was going on there, but i'm not sure if we've heard/seen anything about this yet?

A Mummy’s Tomb walkthrough could be interesting since there’s already the ride at USF.

Yeah, semi-permanent meet and greets would be a nice little capacity booster. Theme it to a catacombs, you can swap out the characters every now and then. Dr. Jekyll, Invisible Man, Abbott & Costello...

Yes-- Monsters ride and a show, just like Potter, but then again Potter was supposed to have a second ride.

Can I just say I love the thought put into the expansion pad options on the top right? I can't argue against a single damn point on any of those IP. Now you have me wanting a Monster Hunter land. Damn you.

I think Minecraft rights are holed up with another company right now, but I think if they somehow decide against Pokémon in Studios, there's no property more deserving of 20 acres than it.

I don't think a hypothetical Luigi expansion would be that big, I mostly assume it'd be around DK in size with the other part (possibly) being used for a Wario-something to get all the main "splinters" of Mario attention in SNW. But I'm curious if Wario could warrant that.

Really well thought out spec map.

Yeah, Merlin Entertainments, a UK-based company that operates parks globally including but not limited to all the Legolands, currently owns the Minecraft rights, which seem to be going to retheming an area of the UK Chessington's Worlds of Adventures theme park (basically budget Animal Kingdom lmao). There should be another Minecraft land somewhere in the US soon too, I believe?

Merlin is currently the world's third biggest theme park operator behind Fantawild (Asian parks) Disney, mainly because of their humungous portfolio and ownership of the Legoland IP, but Universal is on track to imminently overtake them.

We can cross that off the list then, so I suppose no having to worry about a competing Mine Cart ride. Shame, not my favorite IP, but it makes sense the Lego guys jumped on it, Legos, Voxels, same diff.

I assume the video Universal released yesterday where they said they have things in the works for all of their parks. I am not moved by that video, particularly. I’ll pay attention when they’ve actually got something to announce.
