RPO ain't happening for sure (the movie is a guilty pleasure for me admittedly).

But, I think Universal could use a 'best of' / great movie ride attraction. That attraction should go to USF, not Epic.

Yeah I don't think any of that fanboy triumphalism stuff aged well but I will admit I enjoyed stuff like "The Shining level where the Room 237 lady is a boss fight" and "Chucky is basically a grenade you throw at people."

Well, I don't think Universal will need LOTR if they do end up merging with Warner Bros because they can just theme an expansion plot to the Oasis from Ready Player One and bring back Jaws, Twisters, Kongfrontation, etc.

Why not just build an all new concept, like a magical movie theater?

Putting RPO in the parks is bad, not just because it's a theme destroyer but also it's Not Very Good.

The movie is actually a major improvement on the original book AFAIK.

It's never too late to dust off that one designer's drive in movie theater concept that everyone loved! A Great Movie Ride type would be so cool to see now days. That feels like it belong over at USF or USH though.

I've done a bit of playing around with the 150k sq ft space next to Potter. I've roughly mapped out below (based on my own estimate, not anything rumored/confirmed):

Epic Potter - Acreage 1.JPG

While I think it's unlikely, they could put two attractions in this space. I've mapped out both Flight of Passage (excluding the River portion of the building) and Aerosmith Rockin Rollercoaster and roughly thrown them into the space below (FOP in turquoise on left and coaster in soft pink on right):

Rockin and FOP within Space.JPG

These specific attractions don't quite fit due to their shapes (I played my best Tetris here). But, if Universal designed them to the area, they could easily make two attractions work here (like an indoor coaster and flying simulator), with a bit of space for entries and queues.

For transport to and from, I'd like to see a boat ride. Part indoors for more active areas of the park you might be traveling through, part outdoors for areas less busy, and a great reveal (with music crescendo) for when you arrive on either side.

UOR already has experience using a boat transportation system (CityWalk to and from hotels). They could replicate this for site B, to connect Epic and 4th park. This would just be a matter of Universal leaving room for a river in the long term plans and developing a ride concept worth your time queueing for.

An indoor/outdoor boat ride sounds amazing. And if they could work it into being an *actual* attraction with screens, sets, etc. on scale of say, Jurassic park without a drop for the live parts and a toned down kung fu panda in the screened indoor portion? Awesome.

That said- the realization of that will be difficult. You will absolutely have road access between the parks; and you'll almost assuredly have some office spaces. Hogwarts express is raised where vehicles can go underneath. A boat ride would be tricky to say the least for that allowance.

It would likely need to be a unique ride system that went from boat in water, to an omnimover-like track that can be elevated over backstage park access and lowered back into water at the other park.

Indoor part would obviously be needed at the junction behind stardust racers and backstage, but could truly have some amazing reveals once exposed to the land from your screened in tunnels. My hope is if LotR is put in Epic that the reveal from the park hopping from gate 4 would be planned from day one.

This is the major reason I would prefer LotR to Wicked. While Wicked feels like a better fit for Epic, it doesn't feel grand in scale enough to receive two major lands between 2 parks. Maybe it could - Emerald city in one and munchkinland in another. But compared to LotR, it pales in comparison to locations, scale and appeal.

Yellow could be LotR - 1 major E and a show or C/D. Red is the expansion area where the park hopping queue, show building and load/unload could take place with the blue line showing connection to park 4. Talk about an easy pitch to shareholders when they can show what park hopping did to profits at USF/IoA to do simultaneously with a new land.

They could also build bridges (for vehicles and pedestrians) over the new rivers, similar to those they built for site A river system and roads.

Here I am thinking of some complex system instead of something that has existed for a millennia :p

Lol - I find myself overthinking stuff like that a lot.

One challenge would be hiding the noise from traffic when traveling under the bridges. If you've been to Volcano Bay (traveling from the bus stop to entrance) you'll know what this might sound like. For these areas, I'd imagine they could use some dark ride elements, with music and sound effects to mask the noise.

I'd like to see a "Celestial Skyway Trolley" like DisneySea's system. It's relatively small in land use, and elevated. You can create a "warp tunnel" in certain sections to obscure views.
