I had a bad experience at Pizza Moon on Labor Day where I tried to order at the counter and they directed me to sit down and order on my phone. A half hour went by and nobody was getting their food. It turned out that the orders weren’t showing up in their system and it turned into a major problem, with angry guests all over the place. It could have been avoided, if they just took my order.

Apparently several restaurants went down Labor Day afternoon. I mobile ordered fine at 3 locations (Cafe Le Siren, Burning Blade, Pizza Moon), then tried to get Toadstool Cafe for dinner and left when the entire restaurant was having issues with missed orders and food. I walked to Oak & Star, and their mobile order was "just fixed." Worked out fine, thankfully - food was great and came out super fast.

I'd shrug and think it was a fluke if the same thing didn't happen to me at Minion Cafe months prior and my order (along with dozens of other guest orders) was lost. I've shared my story there before so I won't repeat, but I feel like Universal Mobile Order has it out for me personally at this point.

I recall the year and a half they reopened after covid they forced people to use mobile ordering just about everywhere. The result was
super long lines just to pick up the orders, screwed up orders and p _ _ sed off guests. Then they backed off of it and most guests used
lines and the ones that preferred mobile used mobile. And that worked well. Now, it seems the techno's that want phones for everything
are back in charge....screwing up guest's vacations. ....Universal execs that make these decisions need to realize it didn't work to the
guests' advantage before, so back off already.

When their mobile ordering system works, it can be really convenient. However, when it doesn’t work, it throws everything into chaos and makes a whole restaurant full of guests become angry. In my particular experience, the restaurant was slow and they could have just taken my order right away.

After their system stopped working, the tables started getting full because nobody was getting food and nobody was leaving. And when the orders finally got taken manually, none of the servers knew where the table numbers were. I was asked several times what table number I was and almost given other people’s orders.

Operationally, Epic Universe still has some learning to do.

I would rather order at a counter any day or, preferably, a real table service.

But, at this point, I'm a pro at going to Das Stakehaus and ordering a Duvel* or Crooked Can.

If the app is having probs, nothing to be done. They really should have some counter lines ready in that case.

*Duvel has a 6.66 ABV. Lovely.

Hey all! I'm doing a Epic visit this week, is it worth doing a sit down solo, or would I be happy just doing quick service stuff as I go through?

Are there anything in specific spots that I can't miss out on? Not sure when I get back so I want to make it count.

I've done both. Totally up to you what you want to eat. Blue Dragon was a great sit-down, but I didn't feel like I can't get similar food elsewhere.

Unlike Butterbeer crepes.. now those you can only find at Cafe L'air.. Also the pizza at Pizza Moon but that place was just so fun to look at, etc.

We had reservations at both sit down restaurants, and we ended up canceling both because we were enjoying the quick service so much!

You'd definitely be happy doing the quick service, because it's mostly very good. I really enjoyed Atlantic's food and vibe, but more just the vibe at Blue Dragon. Loads of cool little bars all around the park, too. This is going to be a great annual pass holder park one of these days.

We were there 5th and 6th October and loved the food - had the brisket at around 10.45am at Oak and Star (I hate the change to lunch this early, didn't realise it had changed from breakfast to lunch until we sat down and opened the app but we were committed at that point) which was lovely but a little heavy for that time of the morning. Booked dinner in Atlantic for 6pm and had one of the nicest Caesar salads I've ever had and had one (or 3) Northern lights cocktails - fab as well! Next day we got "lunch" at Cafe L'air (in line before 10.30am but waited 30-40 mins for a table), I had the quiche, husband had the Steak Hache au Poivre and they were both amazing, I'm still dreaming of that quiche and excited to go back to Epic just to get it again lol! Shared the butter beer crêpe for dessert and, as people who have tried and failed to enjoy the butterbeer drinks in any form, were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Finally had dinner that evening at the Blue Dragon - we got the Korean chicken wings (both our favourite), wontons, spring rolls and orange chicken....waaaay too much food for 2 people, enjoyed all the small plates but wasn't a fan of the orange chicken, sort of tasted like a Terry's chocolate orange lol but would still go back and just order less food! Overall, thought the food and drinks were great and can't wait to get back next year and try the Mac n cheese cone and get the HHN rocks from hell in dark moor (food line was really long when we went to get them around 7.30/8pm so didn't want to waste our evening with lower wait times in line for them).

We had the same issue - it's insane how short breakfast is at Oak and Star!
