I was multiple days behind on the thread and while catching up was thinking… travel agents are typically free services.

I've used them before, for free, and was very happy. Very professional.

Unsure if shared already, but next tickets due to be released are general one day plus Epic tickets.

So one day at IOS/ USF plus one day at Epic (within 4) 5 days)

Still not what I want , but I may cave just so I can secure tickets. I suppose I can always use my extra day to do stay and scream .

Continuing to draw this out with needless tiers/waves is frustrating.

Let people customize their ticket packages with however many days and whichever of the parks they want.

Very guest unfriendly. Very capitalistic focused.

As expected.

I dunno. I think I'm going to be pretty okay when I get to have my day on May 30 and there is not crazy crowds, 4 hour lines, high heels sinking into wet pavement*, and the like.

This strategy is either genius or idiotic. We will know come July.

*cheers to every one who has seen opening day disasters, the biggest of them all being DisneyLand. Pretty sure that park ended up okay.

You're insane if you really think this is going to happen. The crowds are still going to be crazy.

They could easily limit opening day, week, month, while still putting the guest experience first and allowing people to actually plan their trips properly.

But alas, this is the current era of the theme park industry.

It is a business, and (at least according to the NYT) they spent $7 BILLION to build it. They are trying to recoup at least some of that in the shorter term.

Question for you all - if you buy an annual pass online now, are you able to buy the single day EU tickets? Or do you need to actually HAVE the physical pass?

You must activate your pass after buying, which means using it to enter one of the existing theme parks at least once, before you’re able to buy Epic one-day tickets.

Yep, that was my plan too. I have called twice and e-mailed twice across multiple months in hoping this changed, but it has not.

Yep - I should have never let my seasonal pass expire!

Now we wait and hope that single day/2 day tickets eventually exist at some point lol

Oh they will exist. And they will go on sale "before the park opens." Who knows the specific details after that.

I mean, I get they are a business, and need to make money, but the current ticketing situation just feels extra unfriendly …

I think Universal sees it as extra friendly (at a cost). You can lock in an Epic Day before they open the flood gate and the single day tickets sell out in 11 mins.

For the first few weeks the tickets will sell out, but I would expect that level of demand to soften after the first summer. Of course, it'll pick up Thanksgiving/Holidays, but there is absolutely no need to keep this ticketing structure for long.

If they are worried about folks not staying at their resorts, guarantee access with paid admission (it's not that clear in their messaging thus far).
