Also got two rides in. One with after 3pm Platinum AP Express, and one SR. SR was pretty fast, but I think once the word gets out on that, I could see it getting pretty dang long. Overall, ops were surprisingly smooth, but the ride did break down at least twice for about 30 min each. But when it was running fine, they were really moving people through. It's the lockers that's the choke point--as expected.

When I did SR. I asked they guys next to me how long they waited, and they said 2 hours. Express still took about 15-20 because of lockers.

One problem I saw already with line management... I witnessed multiple people go from Standby and sneak into Express. I don't know if they were doing it intentionally, but the beginning of stand by line had a lot of empty queue space, so people were ducking under them to catch the line, and the layout is so confusing, people just ducked right into Express. So hoping that's something they can address sooner rather than later

Ride itself, while on the shorter side of things, is very fun, smooth, and re-ridable. Sadly, I got nearly the same seat both times (rows 5 and 6 in car 3), so can't say how much it changes between cars. The opening section has more airtime that I expected. Not super intense in terms of speed, but just a really good time. Sort of feels like a smoother, controlled (but again, shorter) version of Time Traveler (from Silver Dollar City)--which is also a pretty great, fun ride.

Ok I got 1 ride in today (2nd row of Front car)
Overall loved the ride, it’s relentless. However it isn’t overall that intense g-force wise. It has decent airtime but in short pops none too sustained.
The ride felt like the perfect length.
For me personally I didn’t feel like it was nauseating at all but it could be for someone more sensitive.

Also atleast for today they accepted the Platnium pass post 3:00 Express pass.

Oh ho ho man, what a THRILL! I got the back car, front row, and I got the thrill of my life! I haven't ridden coasters in a while, so I might feel a little differently the more I get used to it. Got quite a bit of air time, and my hair flew like crazy in the wind! Who needs caffeine when THIS exists?! Had a blast on the ride, and this was well worth the 2hr wait for me!

Worth the freaking wait I spent in the queue, and I can't believe a 1 hour drive with mild traffic worked (left at 4, got in around 5). I'm a little envious of those who got two rides in the same day, but I'm just glad I got to ride at all.

Lived up to being the best thrill at USH yet and I'm excited to come back to it. Might wait on AP previews for my next go, I'll definitely observe how things go tomorrow before I make my call.
Like the above, this might just finally be my caffeine in ride form at Universal. Back when i was a Disney AP, Mission Breakout filled that role.

I think one of the next debates is if they will allow Platinum AP to use after 3pm Express when the ride officially opens. I was surprised they allowed it during these softs, but I suppose they wanted to test out all the line managements.

But I do remember that when MK first opened, Platinum Express was not allowed for about the first year--it was only VIP tours. However, I also don't remember MK having any soft openings.

The lockers are definitely taking awhile, despite Universal's best efforts: there seems to be plenty of them, there's fair amount of space to move around, they unlock quickly, and there's a line of 3 metal detectors once you've stowed your stuff. It should go fairly fast, but it's taking guests a really long time and got very bottlenecked.

On side note, based on one social media account, it seems that the tech rehearsals ended at about 7pm. If true (can anyone else confirm?), it was only open for about 3 hours today, and I know it went down at least twice during that time (though for less than 20-30 min each). So I feel like it's still going to be pretty spotty for future softs, hopefully increasing in length as they work out all the kinks

Rode it again tonight—kicks even more ass in the dark!

One definite downside is that Express really seemed to have a major negative impact on the general line. We got in line right around 6:35, and got off around 8:40. Once the lines were closed and the Express line was finally drained, the general line started quickly moving at a great pace; until then, though, it was molasses. Felt like we were getting warmed up for HHN.

(We were gonna do single rider, but it was closed by the time we got in line, so had no choice but to wait.)

We also witnessed a lady who ducked under the railing and out of line right before the security check to meet up with someone who had already passed the security check, only to get caught by an employee and cause an entire scene where she was yelling and arguing with the employee because she didn’t want to go through it. Really don’t envy the employees who are gonna have to deal with stuff like this in the days and weeks to come.

Either way, what a day! Glad I got to be right there to ride it when it opened, and very happy I was able to get a nighttime ride before park close. Absolutely gonna be a “ride it before leaving for the night and hitting the freeway” wake-up ride.

I'll be going out tomorrow to test my luck but from all the POV's I've watched, I wonder where is the music? The Creative Team hinted at it before the ride opened and we even heard some music from the films being played on the cars during testing last month so I wonder if that'll be a later addition for one reason or another. Either way, very excited to (hopefully) ride this and see how the feel of the ride is! For anyone who rode it today, were they allowing any row requests or no? I'd love to take a ride on that Skyline for my first go

To answer some of your stuff, MK did have softs alongside the rest of the land, I remember going on a day during softs/rehearsals close to park opening and the land was open. The big question is if these could be the same. Doubt it since it's one ride, so I'm not even sure if rope dropping the park is a valid strat.

As for today, I started hearing word about capping around 6-ish, according to my post on here when I mentioned that.

I also wasn't expecting the lockers to be double sided, made me have to be doubly sure I got everything when I was leaving.

By the way, I heard Gasolina in the queue, which means it's likely a very intentional choice on the playlist.

I think I was too caught up in the thrills to see if there was any music. As for row requests, doesn't seem like it, but the front car did have signage that seemed to indicate it might be possible, saying it was "Front Row Only" and that it'd have a longer wait than the other rows.

Gotta remember that the note Universal put out for surrounding neighbors mentions the coaster being heard from 1pm-9pm so Im guessing that rope drop is not a main strategy for the next two weeks and they'll continue capping the line early on to ensure guests don't continue riding past their designated sound hours.

This happened all the time when I was working on RIP Ride Rockit. People can't handle metal detectors for whatever reason.
