The only real surprise here for me is Captain EO. I'd imagine Disney would want to keep away from MJ after the past few years.

I read the post, and I can only imagine he means doing something of substance with the Captain EO theater beyond intermittent movie previews.

That certainly makes more sense, and again, even if this guy turns out to have dud info, I'd expect as much from that space whenever they get around to Imagination Pavilion 2.0. Whatever that ends up looking like, Inside Out or keeping Figment in the lead.

That Pirates rumor would certainly be...interesting. I'll be honest that my clone ride addition hangups end at Chinese parks, since it's incredibly unlikely that I'll ever end up being able to check those out myself in person, and I imagine it's the same for the vast majority of American park fans. It'd be a bit weird to have two Pirates of the Caribbean rides at one resort, but maybe WDW is widespread enough to pull it off and it could help exorcise Captain Jack Sparrow from the classic ride faster. We'll see how it goes.

They can close DinoRama and start demo there now, but leave all main paths through land open, as well as the Dinosaur ride, until after January.

Which is why I want to specify dinorama and Dinoland being separate.

Can't imagine it was a mod who removed him, as even if he was spreading misinformation, his posts and tone were relatively innocuous rumor mongering.

Hopefully he was referencing some shorter-term updates to the parks as all the D23 announcements are going to take much longer to come to fruition.

2025:
We already have Test Track 3.0 for Epcot, Villains show for DHS, Disney Starlight parade for MK, and Zootopia: Better Together show possibly for DAK.

I feel like Disney would feel that's enough for now to combat Epic's debut, to be honest.

It's about what I expected given the time constraints IMO.

However, they really need to do more for DAK in that three year interim between now and Tropical Americas. The Singapore Ikran walkthrough, a crappy Jungle Book retheme of Kali River Rapids, anything really.

I heard from a castmember at Dumbo that current "Imagineering" came with the slogan 'Epic Magic', marketings reaction was that it was a stupid idea and went with Worlds and the checklist that should be read as 'more is better'. Someone at marketing wanted to highlight the new offerings but most of those things weren't ready so marketing didn't know if it will be any good or work at all.

It's a decent marketing ad as they're essentially just reminding people who has "more" to offer. While Uni has the new park, they still need to be competitive in hotel/ticket pricing with WDW. It's very easy for a family to switch over to a WDW stay/vacation if Universal prices themselves too high (or sets day restrictions for Epic).

A problem for families, with younger or teenage kids as well, is Disney as a resort has more to offer outside of the parks. Hotels have more spas, more dining at Disney springs, a cirque du solei show at night, water activities abound by the Magic Kingdom, some hotels are more camp like life and offer more nature activities, they do simply have more. I actually don’t hate the marketing.

Why would Imagineering get a say in the first place, and how would an MK Dumbo CM even know? Does their uncle work at Nintendo?

I mean if the success of X-Men ‘97 says anything, 90s nostalgia is the way to go for Disney rn
