From what I’ve heard it sounds like it was supposed to be almost 100% carnivore chaos where things go wrong very early on. I do prefer the current storyline though. Although it’s technically a holdover from JPRA, having the first half of the ride be a tranquil tour before all hell breaks loose builds a nice juxtaposition.

So I have no clue about what system or experience was supposed to be, but wouldn’t the Mosasaurus hitting a glass panel; surrounded by reinforced concrete pillars(that dont crack) and having the boat rock kind of not be a realistic feature at all? Idk just my opinion. Maybe im being too technical

It’s theme park logic. It’s the same reason we’re not left blinded and screaming if the Dilophosaur “venom” gets in our eyes despite that being a thing in the films; if it makes the experience more fun, that’s what matters, because most people would be jolted, laugh, and never think back on the physics of the Mosasaurus impact.

It’s a valid opinion IMO. I’m also irked that I literally don’t feel something biting me every time I’m in that scarab room on the Mummy. I’m supposed to have my legs sting not tickled!

That’s not really what they’re suggesting, though. I think having a louder glass reverb would make sense, but I don’t think it’s absurd to say the monster behind glass can’t bump our boat without breaking the glass.

There are ticklers on the Hollywood Mummy but not the Orlando version. They were installed a year or so (that sounds right?) after the original opening. They don't always work.

The adult Stegosaurus was really moving last night. I’ve never seen it move like that, ever. It’s head was moving, it’s torso, it’s tail was doing circles… I didn’t even know it was capable of that, the most movement I’d ever seen was the tail wagging a bit and the head slowly moving.

Hopefully someday they can repair the Hadrosaur a little so it actually swings up out of the water fast enough to startle the audience, instead of very slowly rising.

Unrelated, but the World theming is really underwhelming in some places. I love all the Indominus animatronics which makes it worth it IMO. But the Mosasaurus screen section at the beginning is really lame compared to the rest of the ride. It’s kind of a big stretch of space, which is the main reason it feels like such a waste.

I would’ve loved to see something like 20,000 Leagues at Disneysea, with a clear layer of glass filled with water and animatronics behind it even if that meant smaller aquatic dino’s and no Mosasaurus.

I also think all the giant “ESCAPED” screens near the first lift are pretty corny and overdesigned, and Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt are unconvincing. The approach in the original ride where you organically realize something’s wrong as you enter an area you clearly shouldn’t be in with the work lights on was way more thrilling IMO.

My advice is sit in the back

I normally only get a few drops of water on my hair and face on most rides

I'm presuming this is from a press release but it looks like the water cannons are being brought back

Not just that. From what it's sounding like, 4 animatronics (most likely Dilophosaurus' with very little movement) are being added and it seems like there'll be a loud sound effect regarding a Mosasaurus either right before you go down the drop or while going down the drop. And then the Mosasaurus scene is getting even more water added onto it. This is actually going to be insane.

As a former Jurassic World ride-op, I wouldn't hold my breath on the water canons. The reason they haven't been used since it opened in 2019 is due to the Raptor Encounter next to the "splash down".

Nobody thought to create a rock wall or add plexiglass to keep the photo-op area dry.

Still one of the strangest things I can't believe no one anticipated.

It sounds like they’re gonna give Tiana’s at Disneyland a run for their money. I definitely want to ride it but I might have to bring a poncho

In the long run, this ride was always going to give Tiana's a run for its money when it comes to maintenance and consistency. Just give it a year until Tiana's starts falling apart with lower water levels, worse animatronic upkeep, and maybe even a water leak or two.
