Point two isn't true. Avengers monorail never traveled the Epcot path, only the MK loop (resort only? Not sure on that). The Starlord and Gamara character were at DHS party and outsourced, not Disney. So that's not as cut and dry.

Re: Avengers-rail, exactly. Universal made it clear if it traveled thru EPCOT, there would be arbitration. Why it was resort line only. I don't remember such restrictions on GotG-rail. Vaguely remember riding it to EPCOT, but that could have been another wrap.

Re: characters, they were still inside a park where guests had paid admission (albeit not the normal admission). If they outsourced Harry Potter or Simpsons look-alikes, would still feel the hammer brought down on them.

Only because his name has come up in this thread recently as a source--I remember Jim Hill actually drew a line in the sand, said Potter was a lock for WDW, not IoA. Staked his credibility on it. Seemed to be the beginning of his downhill slide.

So yeah, I don't take anything as a lock until I'm actually riding it.

It's tough to find many Jim Hill correct predictions. You have to wade through the ocean of wrong predictions. He's the flim flam man of theme park insiders.

Back in the day, when he first split off from AICN, he had a decent track record. But as seems to be the case with a lot of past and present theme park insiders, he apparently relied on one source. When that source dries up, you're out of luck.

Well the plot thickens....A Martian visited the other site and doubled down

Not only is GotG going into Energy in the very near future BUT plans look for it to eventually (possibly) take over WoL also in what would essentially be Epcot's SWL (i.e large IP, multiple rides and such)

There was no GotG rail....only the movie preview in DHS

EDIT to Add: Something I have said many times before also...Why do people assume Guardians will be in Infinity Wars? Even when it has been denied by the creators

No matter what happens I eagerly await more hand waving explaining how it fits into Epcot just like Frozen and Avatar in DAK.

Wait, someone legitimate is saying Guardians is going into Energy now, not Space?

Discussions about impropriety of the IP in Epcot aside, a Guardians overlay on Space could be fun, imagine blasting off into space to the tune of Hooked on a Feeling, Star Lord cracking wise the whole. The question in my mind about the possibility of this is if HP would allow it.

You know what really is pissing me off? If it is going to Energy, that means it's going to be an original build, right? So after all this time, they finally settled on doing an original build like they should've decided in the first place... but instead of putting it in the park that NEEDS it (DHS), it's going into Future World of all places. God...

Honestly, if this is what it takes to get new rides built in WS, it's not the end of the world to me. It still looks like Norway on the outside and is a quaint ride on the inside. If we get more attractions around the lagoon because of this ride, then good.

I agree with this statement. If this was someone's idea to show the higher ups more capacity is needed in that area, I am all for it. WS needs more rides.

I don't believe this rumor, but I believe it may be blue sky. If it is blue sky the rational would be that they can't do any more construction right now in DHS as they can't afford to lose more capacity. So the next best park in their mind is Epcot.

There's easy ways to explain Avatar at DAK. It's actually kinda perfect for the park. Frozen and (potentially) GOTG are a different story.

HP is no longer a sponsor. So they really have no say.

Eh, why are there dinosaurs in the current ride? Dr. Science even lampshades that the idea Dino turned into today's unleaded has been proven to be coprolite since 1982.

Visited EPCOT Center in 1983. It was literally my favorite place on Earth. But it's been been a decaying corpse for well over a decade. If they can at least build something fun that doesn't look like the remnants of a dumpster fire, I'll make up my own theme in my head.

Note: you're taking the word of Disney insiders who insisted the triangles at the end of Spaceship Earth were screens that just weren't turned on yet. They never were.

Which insiders? The ones I followed closely never said anything like this, but were bummed that the original descent was dropped...

Also, from what I understand back when MARVEL was acquired, the big thing the insiders said was that the only thing the suits were interested in for WDW was GOTG. And I could have sworn DHS was the target spot. But the insiders always pointed at the contract that it would be near impossible.

Agreed. I'd much rather have something fun than what is currently a waste of space. The best part is it would actually bring people over to that corner of the park again.

Martin was pretty insistent that the triangles would be turned on any day.
