A tight corner won't be at speed.

What I can't get my head around is that I'm still on the assumption that this will be based on the Forbidden Forest so I'm expecting a ton of trees to hide most of the track and it will make for a great riding experience.View attachment 6297

Hundreds and hundreds of trees will be planted.

At least they now have access to a lot of trees.

Expect extensive rockwork to the right of the castle entrance, on the right side of this photo.

This project has me so excited because the more we know the more questions I have. So the main entrance façade IS changing or there will just be added rockwork to the existing abandoned castle? I'm having a hard time picturing it. As a guest walking into this queue, what are we entering? Was I on the right track a while back when I said the queue entrance will essentially be themed to a small entrance into the rocky mountain area of Hogwarts grounds? Like similar to the below small building below with rockwork around it.

Like the RMC Raptor track or the S&S track?

I say don't read too much into the supports. B&M usually do the square pads and Intamin does circular, Intamin also changes track and support types on a whim constantly based on cost and manufacturing.

I don't know.

It seems to me that the old Dragon Challenge entrance is remaining. Rockwork is being added to the right side of the building, all around where the ride will start, beside and and under the track.

I see. Wondering if you'll be able to see the rockwork off the ride at all then.

You'll be able to see the rockwork when walking through the exterior queue towards the building entrance, to your right. It will be used to help separate the view from the trains of the exterior queue at ride start. As well as cover the exposed side of the queue structure from view of the ride.

Awesome. So at least we'll get a chance to appreciate it in the queue! The mystery of the old castle structure façade still remains but at least the approach will be enhanced. It never made sense back in 2010 when it opened but we all gave it a pass because it was a simple redressing of an existing attraction and the rest of Hogsmeade was so spectacular but with a complete demolition of Dragon Challenge, and brand new build (including alterations to the side of the queue building), keeping the nonsensical abandoned castle entrance leading into a Tri-Wizard tent is peculiar.

This actually has a lot of potential. The opening to the building does look a little similar:

Plus from that angle, you should be able to see Hogwarts in the background.

The only problem I could see is that you're entering Hogwarts and then exiting back to Hogsmeade.

See this has me excited. A heavily wooded attraction would be something "new" in Florida (from my memory).

Will you be able to see the coaster clearly at all from the outside?

Would all these trees and a low coaster track be potentially hazardous in regards to debris and falling branches?

As soon as you enter the exterior queue you will. Because the track nearest the entrance will be below the main walkway’s grade you likely won’t see the coaster until you enter the queue (same old entrance near locker station.)

Some of the middle section of the ride (where it overlaps a little higher) may be visible through the entrance arch as you walk by, but nothing will be sticking up out of the area like Dragons used to be.

there are plenty of parks that deal with this. Usually the track is far enough away, to avoid debris.

I'd be more concerned about hurricanes knocking trees on top of the track. You can build coasters to be wind resistive, but not trees.

Having said that, there's so much terrain work being done, way more than anything else in Orlando which makes this coaster so unique but it will be hidden.

With these footers, I suspect that not all that concrete will be visible and dirt will be raised up the sides.

This is the very end of the coaster before it goes back into the station so it wouldn't be going very quick anyways. Bio's infamous yellow arrow is actually pointing to the exact spot.

If they're building a small forest, then the trees on the perimeter should take most of the brunt of the wind.

As I mentioned before, trees will be used to separate scenes from one another, and of course around the perimeter. I wouldn't expect any to be close enough to the actual track to cause any issues.
