This attraction will seem so fresh after all the recent screen based & simulator attractions, at both Universal & Disney. Something new & something different. Definitely whets the appetite.

I hope so. I mean I do like Transformers but it is basically Spider-Man. I do like Kong. I do like Forbidden Journey. But there are a lot of screens... different ride types to balance it out a little won't hurt.

It seems like it's a start in the right direction.

I love all those attractions too. But it will be nice to get a different type of experience. I'd really enjoy some type of new attraction on the order of JPRA too, just without water. Diversity is a strength.

This could also greatly vary the thrill factor. I imagine sitting on the bike would be drastically more thrilling than the sidecar.

I was going to suggest that the bike could rotate but that kind of defies the point of a backward section.

Yeah, any type of suspended/inverted coaster is out based on those footers. There would be a double row if the car was under the track.

That's a shame. I don't know why, but seeing the track just kills the theming for me, for some reason. A visible track is perfectly fine in Gringotts; it's supposed to be on a track. But being told I'm on Sirius Black's motorcycle or in the Ford Anglia and then watching the vehicle follow along an obvious roller coaster track just makes it impossible for me to suspend disbelief, so to speak. I was hoping for either an indoor coaster or an inverted one. But hey, I guess you can't make everyone happy.

Nothing can make everyone happy.
Unless it’s as high, fast, intense as dragons (which we know it won’t be lol) then a section of fans (including me) will be unhappy.

Wouldn't an inverted track make it more visible?

HARRY POTTER FUTURE ATTRACTION with concept art .
6 months ago, I created this video. I have the impression that it really gives an idea of the future attraction at Universal Orlando .

Yes. I’ve rode it on two separate trips- one when it first opened and one around 6 months later. I’ve gone on it maybe 3-4 times. It’s “ok”.

Not really a fast launch- it would be disappointing if this were for potter. But my 8 year old and wife (not a huge coaster fan) really enjoyed it. Seats were fine- way easier to get in and out of than FoP for “normal” guests. No loading issues.

That said- it has the potential to really be a fun little ride- but it would certainly require screens or scenes and some stops. It would be challenging to envision this having a drop track based on the length of the train seeing as its only two-wide, meaning it’d be long. And considering the only drop track videos we’ve seen are more compact trains like gringotts-sized ones- it seems like a stretch with this vehicle. But if it did, that’d be awesome as well.

I said this when the ride was first announced- I’m incredibly excited and trust UC in this endeavor completely. Screens or otherwise. Only because everything UC, WBC and JKR have done in conjunction with each other has exceeded everyone’s expectations. So until they prove otherwise, they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt.

You're assuming that you'll be able to see the track. I don't know if its the case... They hid pretty well the kuka arms on HPFJ

Hiding the track with the Kuka arms is pretty easy as most of the action is happening to the side. Most coasters you are facing forward.

I don’t think they’re going to try to hide the track. But I also don’t think the ride vehicle will be shaped like anything special like a motorbike or ford anglia. But hey, I could be wrong. Like I said, probably just something basic like a magic “carriage.”

I’m with Alicia on this one. The coaster as described doesn’t lend itself to a motorbike setup, and if the Anglia is a show scene we won’t be riding in it

Is anyone still putting their hat in the 'invert' ring? Or are we sure it is a sit-down type

Not as you are riding it. You're looking down and out at the scenery, not over your own head.

I hope Alicia is right about the vehicle. I do not want to see a line of Sirius Black motorcycles or Ford Anglias. Only carriages or brooms make sense theming-wise.

It doesn't really matter if the track is inverted or not, when you look ahead, you'll see the track, if anything you line of sight will be closer to an inverted track.

The main difference however is when you're riding an inverted track, you'll constantly be passing by support beams.
