Unless HHN is indeed making a comeback, Murdy needs to be careful how he posts. He’s going to let down a LOT of HHN fans.

I think the fact that hes back working at all is an indication that we'll get something this year. Heck, they've got 2 mazes standing basically ready to go, and I dunno if they'd be willing to leave them up for another year if they didn't intend to use them this year. Even covered with tarps and stuff I feel like you can't just leave a temporary structure like that up for 2 full years and not sustain pretty significant amounts of deterioration.

The tents up are housing storage for props of IPs set to return as far as I was told. Not necessarily an indication of anything coming back. Yes USH is hopeful, but it's a matter of the waiting game at this point.

to be entirely honest, even if HHN doesn't happen here, I'm just glad that this implies we'll be getting some of that beetlejuice merch.

Might be because enough Californians are getting vaccinated, and it might give USH a signal they will bring back HHN for this year.

Okay, worst case (and most realistic) scenario in my eyes: "Diet" daytime HHN like Orlando had last year. We have TWDA dusted off with TCM and Halloween open. Maaaaaaaybe Beetlejuice gets rebuilt into 29 or Tram plaza.

Best case: An actual event but scaled down to the likes of 2010 but without the tram and only two scarezones. TWDA, Halloween, TCM, BJ and Bride come to the event with possibly an original or IP original for a "budget" house. (Chucky? Pandora's Box 2.0?)

Either way, I seriously doubt they will bring back the Metro or Terror Tram this year as both of those cost money and renting out park of the Universal lot.

From my experience, talking with location scouts, the Bates mansion and motel, war of the worlds, as well as jaws and the flash flood areas, are not a part of the standard backlot Uni rents out. While they are rented out to productions, they come at a higher cost as they take away a highlight for the studio tour. So I imagine, terror tram wouldn’t cost them anything as far as renting out the space. Might be a nice comeback actually since it would make more sense with social distancing.

Oh wow I didn’t know that part. I do know they have to physically rent out the backlot.

I would still be surprised if Tram makes a comeback though as that costs serious money to run during the event. They have to pay for gas and maintenance for the trams, overtime pay for the tram guides and drivers, they have to hire security, scareactors, and attendants....it gets pretty costly.

It would have been cool to see Invasion of the Body Snatchers as a maze (the 1978 version). Mathew revealing himself as a pod screaming would be a perfect way to end the maze.

Honestly, I find the horror tram to be boring as hell. It's nice to go out and see behind the backlot and all at night, but they don't generally excite me as mazes themselves.

For me, the Terror Tram is something that is insanely cool the first few times you do it... and then it's repeat value diminishes when you realize it changes very little from year to year.

Though I do still appreciate the unique aspects of it (like it or not, it is a one of a kind experience), but for the hard core fan, it's not much of a priority at this point. Though I can imagine it's still quite a draw for a first time visitor.... and it's also got to be a pretty good people eater, from a throughput point of view.

Creativity is key as well as separating groups so the actors can have a chance to actually scare them
