I think it could be back next year with a FNAF 2 house, but honestly (and as someone who thinks about this series ever hour of every day) I think they need to give it some breaks. I don’t want this to become the next Walking Dead or Stranger Things. Maybe skip it in 2027? I just don’t want everyone to start to hate it.

It’s DEFINITELY the biggest IP this year though. The only reason Terrifier comes close is that HHN has a very filtered audience of people who are likely to be fans of that series, but I feel like as the event has gone on the initial hype for that IP has waned slightly and FNAF has remained pretty crazy

Realistically, they’re not gonna make any changes to FNAF if it comes back. Absolute best case scenario maybe they will add a new scene at the end from FNAF 2. No way they’re gonna make an entirely new house out of it from the ground-up.

Again, the house this year cost a pretty penny. The point in bringing it back would be to save money and to still cash in on the popularity. Besides, while I don’t love having a repeat, I would rather they do this so they can allocate the budget to making great houses all around.

What about mostly the same layout but switching out some puppets

I mean if we get the house next year without Puppet and Golden Freddy, I'd be shocked

Also maybe if we are nice we can get all three characters in the opening scene like in Florida

This is Hollywood. I'd be shocked if we even got anything new in a repeat of this maze

This is slipping into spec for 2026, but I think it's reasonable to assume they would want a sequel house to tie into the new movie coming out in a few months.

Not sure if I agree with this. A FNAF 2 house doesn't necessarily need to be "from the ground up". Much of the pizzeria props and animatronic puppets can be re-used and rethemed as necessary. This is Universal's most lucrative in-house horror IP right now, so they likely see it as being worthy of a continued investment in.

I don't think his reasoning is entirely unfounded in this case. There was a real-life tragedy revolving around a different IP that is often cited as a point of concern for doing this.

That being said, he does seem open to the idea of developing a proper FNAF attraction, based on the proposals he approved with Sally Dark Rides.

There’s a viral clip that’s been going around recently of someone building a real life version of the fictional springlock suits… except missing the animatronic/suit dual functionality and basically just been an actual torture device. Point being that yes, people are absolutely crazy enough to try something if they opened an actual restaurant.

They could definitely do it in the park if they wanted due to the higher security.

As for FNAF 2: I strongly disagree that they can just repeat this house next year with different puppets. Either we get a brand new FNAF 2 house (which I think is more likely) or a straight repeat of this. FNAF 2 is set at a different location with some very cool scenery.

There’s a scene in the trailer of characters walking through a dried up tunnel from what used to be a boat dark ride that would be stunning in a house. The second film is also introducing a whopping five animatronics, two of which are fan-favorites and really deserve fully designed new scenes.

Will it be expensive to create a new house for FNAF 2? Yeah, but it’s probably worth the return on investment. I’ve seen a couple dozen FNAF 2 specific cosplays every single night this year. It’s one of the most popular games in the series.

You made a horror series and pretend like making a real restaurant would somehow endanger kids to me is just silly but he man owns the IP, so hoping money changes his mind or he could maybe throw out ideas, like Art is walking around because the creator wanted it...so I hope Scott had ideas of how to use the characters since he is so protective over them

To be fair, I think he only really cited that early on. Since then when he's been asked his reasoning has shifted to restaurant management and margins being tricky and not being within his skillset, which I honestly think is fair. FNAF already has a rough track record with crappy licensing situations, and if you look at stuff like mrbeast burger or how chuck e cheese is doing financially, I think it makes sense that he wouldnt wanna risk an IP tie in restaurant in an already dying genre of restaurant. I think it would only really ever survive as a temporary pop up or something.

But then he lets the pizza be nothing special?

I dont hate the FNAF pizza but compared to the Jason food....its just not the same quality

Its just weird to me if he is soooo picky but then sometimes slaps a sticker on something and says thats fine

Yeahhh its weird lol
Fnaf merch quality control has always been kinda nonexistent, it seems like he kinda just chooses where the license should go and then doesn't really check up on it after that, sometimes great merch happens but its usually by virtue of the vendors putting an effort in of their own volition rather than any kind of consistency

Completely logical on FNAF. Hopefully, they would fill gaps like the missing characters in the opening scene if they repeat it. Though I was hoping they'd fill some of those black walls in Poltergeist.

Like I'm not a FNAF fan and don't normally buy merch, but I'm on the train to a local haunt wearing a HHN FNAF t-shirt right now lol.

Tonight is it. Kinda crazy how fast this season went by (honestly went a bit *too* fast compared to other years). Hopefully the energy is off the charts tonight and this year goes out with a bang. What a year, what a lineup, what a time. See y'all in the spec for HHN 2026!

Unfortunately, I never made it back this season -- but not for the lack of trying, a lot of ticket options just sold out way too far in advance to be able to genuinely plan with another group and with my own "oh maybe we should save money," I kept taking it as a sign lol. But overall, a fairly decent year, especially in comparison to the very low-low of last year. And yeah, this year went by WAY too fast. Hopefully Fan Fest can help keep the vibes going.

I will say, these were not the properties whatsoever I wanted at the event, but I think Murdy did a fine job of justifying their existence on being there. Some were unexpected hits and others were good enough to at least have fun. With all the money this year raked in -- and I truly have to believe this was their highest grossing year, considering how much merch flew off the walls, the longest lines I've ever seen, and how quickly tickets sold out -- next year better be no holds barred in terms of quality. Every maze needs to be FNAF level of detail and care. And with one of my favorite franchises getting a release EARLY in the year, I have to ask.........................Scream? Maybe this time? Possibly? Hopefully? PLEASE?!

I also must confess, while I still really wasn't into any of these properties, it wasn't a bad year. Though for me, after doing FNAF 3 times, I had had enough (mainly because I just have zero interest in that property).

The big surprise for me is how popular Scarecrow was all season long. Obviously Terrifier and FNAF were big hitters we expected to get long lines, but I don't know if anyone really foresaw Scarecrow also having consistently long lines all night all season--especially for a repeat!

It did go by fast but HHN at least was two months (also shout out to Disneyland)

So many other haunts and Halloween theming don’t start until wayyyy later so I appreciate the 12 weeks we got

I never really had time for Oktoberfest at six flags or spooky farms at knots because they have 4-5 weeks being up

The thing is, I do feel like they delivered in the quality this year, especially with FNAF and Fallout. Outside of Poltergeist and maaaaaaybe Terrifier, I feel like they delivered with the quality this year. They clearly put some money into the houses this year. I hope they keep up the same pace for next year, which I think it will!

Yeah I was a little surprised by Scarecrow. I think k part of it was because how good people the remembered the house being, but more importantly, it still holds up! Although I don’t love repeats, Scarecrow is probably my favorite repeat.

Looking forward to going back this evening for one last hurrah! What a great year. Up there with 2016 and 2023 being one of my favorite years. I’ll miss it. Looking forward to yet another speculation season.

Solid year, I do hope next year has a few more new originals. Monsterous had a lot borrowed from La Llorona, though those are some of my favorite scenes of all time

The only real way we're going to get that chance, and I'll be honest I really hope we do, is if they found out a way to do 9 Houses without it affecting Terror Tram (which, will already be affected as it is considering we're not far off from the Psycho Pass grading project commencing in ernest!).

From what I understand SS12 was going to be used for HHN, for Wyatt; but last minute changes due to I believe The Odyssey impacted the use of the venue as a byproduct resultant. Assuming if the stage is vacant next year, I could actually see SS12 being how we jump up the number (with the Utility Events Space being what replaces Jurassic).

With next year being the 20th Year since the Revival Era began, I want to hope they can get the funding to go all out and to have the ability. But I'll save those thoughts for when the Spec thread opens soon.

My fan takes: Fallout should've been longer, Terrifier was just needlessly gross and not scary (LOVE the scene with Art and the maze host though), Poltergeist remains overhated, FNAF made me tear up and we need the sequel ASAP. I finally saw Scarecrow and I get the hype. I honestly loved the stupid Slash version of O Death, it was just fun and goofy in the right way for me.

Jason had AMAZING effects and sets, but honestly (and I feel kind of mean saying this) I wish the cast had been more aggressive. Jason is a hard character to play at an event like this. He's slow and lumbering but ruthless and cold in his movements, which makes him scary in a film scene. But when he's approaching you in a house, it's not particularly scary when he's very slowly walking towards you and raising his blade. They did a fantastic job capturing the character, but I almost wish they could've done the same acting but like twice as fast. Still an amazing amazing house. THE JASON LIVES SCENE RULESSS

This year I was very lucky to be able to act in the event. Unlike Orlando where every actor seemingly wants to be an internet micro-celebrity, I don't think we're meant to disclose our roles during the event... but you can probably figure it out. I was strongly against the idea of my house from the first mention of it, but I fell in love with the lore, characters and people behind it. I'm honestly getting emotional just writing this, and it's still the morning lol. THANK YOU to all of you who came.
LONG LIVE HHN 2025

The biggest regret for chosing Switch 2 (and I say it only in the moment) over HHN was simply because of not being able to see Fazbear and the Gang.

I will envy everyone who got the chance to see Freddy be handled in a way that was incredibly faithful and "Fun" to the material, even if most of my contextual with the FNAF series is through the lore and stories and not so much the games.
