Scream would be cool, the rumor comes up most years, but maybe this will be the year. I'll be going no matter what, so this will be gravy.

I'm cautious. I love Scream, but I would love the first four films before 5 or 6 (I also think 5 is the weakest of the saga, while 6 is the second strongest sequel behind 4), and considering the bad press/ controversy it would make sense why Spyglass/ Paramount are more prone to lending the IP to happening. But if it's HHN's only shot and unconditionally Universal creative chose 5 + 6 then what are we even doing man, lol.

I'm hoping for a "Best Of" franchise house though.

I think 5 is similar enough to 1 that having it in/as the house wouldn't make much of a difference. But that's just me tho. I agree with you about the actual movies themselves (5 isn't great but 6 is) but I wouldn't be mad if it was just those two. Anything to get Scream at hhn!

Scream being given a Ultimate Kill Count style house that highlights the Requel Duology but celebrates the other four films would be a great choice. I mentioned it on the 34 thread but will say it here; it feels like it'd be a great call.

And as I said there too--it really shouldn't be hard to get Roger Jackson to come do voiceover for this. A Original-IP where it's a "Stabathon" (that uses the films narratively as a basis) with Ghostface crashing the party feels like a really fun means of including the whole franchise.

Basically the basic premise of 2011's Terror Tram, but updated as a house.. and using the actual films instead of the new STAB movie route

On a serious note, if this IP is secured, fans don’t need to complain about which film is used. Let’s get this IP to the event and eventually the original will come.

Going back to the Horror Night Nightmares Christmas spec map, presumably Scream would be the Ghost, and potentially be within the UBE Venue based on that spec map. What would be crazy is that, if the Santa Beard is Terrifier and the toy shelf is M3GAN as some predicted, that would mean the Upper Lot would have three big slasher characters! I wonder how they would try to do crowd control to ensure enough people are in the lower lot, too. (Presumably, if the rocking horse in the Mummy queue is something like Fallout or LOU2, that could help...)

The Death Eaters were a fun sideshow at HHN. I hope they come back or at least have a horde of M3gans taking out the Potter Crew (JK would not be amused) <lol just kidding>.

I hope they do something with SS12 again this year, the road crossing was a bit annoying, but I loved being on the (un)hallowed ground where they shot some of the classics.

Hopefully we'll get a new HN Nightmares spec map soon to start frothing about.

Don't rely on the locations of the spec map. They're guessed and also done incorrectly on purpose, with a few exceptions.

my understanding is their absence last year was primarily for a much more banal reason than this.

Seriously though, USH needs to stop being tight wads for HHN. They make so much from alcohol, merch, food & ticket sales to justify spending costs

Maybe they could give the Death Eaters electric cattle prods to fend off the drunks. They could bury some consent in the terms and conditions to being cattle prodded if you're a drunk idiot (perhaps along with consenting to being part of a Human Centipede if Universal wants you for one, oh they probably have that already).

Issues aside, I hope it comes back, it's such an atmospheric little sideshow that adds to the event IMO.

To be 100% clear, Death Eaters weren't omitted because of issues with guests. If drunks/guest-on-performer incidents were to blame, we wouldn't be seeing any scare zones, period. It is a money issue, albeit not apparently in the category you'd expect.

So we should see movement any day now.
Even though they're finishing up with getting FanFest ready for next month.

So I imagine @Clive can correct me on this--but the rumor I had heard for why the Death Eaters weren't at HHN last year was for a dumber reason than anyone stealing equipment or costume pieces. I don't know how much I can say, but I believe if they were to come back; they'd have to get new costumes altogether due to damages to the robes and cloaks.
