So, Orlando just announced an original earlier today if the patterns continue to align, I think you might already know what I'm thinking.

I have a feeling that if our originals are announced soon, they would probably be announced next week. The pattern for the last two years has been Orlando's originals get their week and then Hollywood's two originals get announced at a later date. But who knows, they dont always follow some pattern so hopefully we also get some goodies very soon!

So it's looking like we're going to be getting three originals this year?

Count me excited! Last year, our originals were essentially repeats, so I'm ecstatic to have three all-new original houses! Sounds like it could be our strongest year since 2022 for originals.

I also recall us getting a third original back in '22 because we lost Evil Dead. Kinda funny considering it sounds like it's happening all over again.

Someone posted a picture and they have the old Bumhouse stuff out near the Tram.....hoping they are going to like alter it to reuse it
IMG_2004.jpeg

Art taking over the Tram to me would be way more exciting...so hoping that is still the plan (you can see Christmas stuff from the tram as well)

It'd be really funny if the tram starts out as Blumhouse, but then Art hijacks the maze and its Art vs. Blumhouse in a sense

Probably not the route they'd take but funny idea

Are there rumors that we are losing Evil Dead again?

I know I am in the minority, but I would prefer IP's and would rather them pull one of the IP's they own out of their back pocket like Universal Monsters, Chucky, etc and reskin it that way (even if it is just repeat stuff). I understand this late in the planning process it is hard though. My dream would be a year with all IP houses

We had all-IP years in 2007-2009 and again in 2015-2018.. and at this point, it'd be hard to do an all-IP year without the majority of houses being recycled houses from years past, which Murdy knows fans don't like..

I'd be down for this

I thought that was the idea last year with Megan But then she only showed up in Purge world...

So if done right sure why not, I just want Art back and if they can have him with other characters cool

Or--maybe, hear me out, Evil Dead Burn was never planned for Hollywood because we went for another IP instead and lost the chance to do said IP.

Most of the Evil Dead Burn rumors were pointed for Orlando, I'd like to be upfront on that.

I hope so. Evil Dead and Hellraiser, if they come, are the things I would be most excited for.

Unless there's issues, I would hope Art has a presence at the event this year. He appeared to be a big hit last year, the random appearances worked well imo. I also think a Sinners flash mob where they recreate the music/dancing bit would be cool, though they'd need a lot of people.

I've got one night RIP and one night express booked with a third night free I could potentially go. C'mon HHN, give me a reason lol.

With both Mummy, Jurassic, and Parisian; Murdy has seemingly gone out of his way to give specific hints that are far more direct than anything else.

Parisian and JW have seemingly backstory dumps, and Murdy's talked about the 101 Highway being a form of note when researching the facade. Unless there is a moment in the film that is set in LA and near the 101, it's not Evil Dead Burn.

He's not saying that it takes place on or near the 101 Freeway, though. He said the idea came to him while he was driving on it.

Hear me out: If I was John Murdy, if I was talking about a IP house based on a film that won't be released until (atleast when it was being initially worked on) 3 weeks out that everyone would see from the top-side down, would your first idea really be "Oh hey let's make something that was inspired by something I saw on the freeway!"

Also, if it was a facade that'd get approved overnight, would it really be a IP of sensitivity like Evil Dead (where we have seen it affected by unforseen circumstances before and that one would imagine they'd likely be cautious)?

Could I be wrong--absolutely; I genuinely do not think people should be taking stock to Evil Dead Burn being in Hollywood.

My main reasoning for believing 3 originals is that Murdy already confirmed Slash's involvement with the event this year.. He also said Slash ISN'T scoring the Jurassic World queue original and I don't think he'd score the Hispanic culture original, so that's why I'd personally argue for 3 originals..

Unless you'd want to try to make the argument that Ozzy could be a case where Slash is working on the house (and to add that, as I've seen some people speculate Ozzy for Mummy; the same exact logic of "how would they be able to approve of it as quickly" would absolutely come up), one would think they would keep things consistent going forward with Slash doing the original content.

Allows them to consistently update the vinyl, and allows them to have unique merchandise consistently released for Hollywood's HHN.

...unless the idea just came to him while he was driving on the 101, and the 101 itself doesn't reveal any proprietary details about the IP. You can just have thoughts on the freeway. It's not as simple as "I saw x while driving, so now x is part of the facade."

Also, unless he said something somewhere else, he didn't say it got approved overnight. He said he pitched it that evening.

I also think you're overestimating the sensitivity surrounding Evil Dead. Agreement for Rise required the movie to be out by x date. It wasn't, so the house didn't happen. Probably informed how they approach future agreements.

To be clear: I'm not saying if Evil Dead Burn is happening or not happening (though I don't know where the latest round of "not happening" is coming from). I'm just pointing out that what you're saying he's saying isn't necessarily accurate. He's vague for a reason.
