My understanding is he doesn’t want Orlando’s hand me downs, and resents that they were pushed on him back when the event came back on line. And he’s absolutely right that it’s the IPs that differentiate Horror Nights Hollywood from its competitors — want a lineup full of originals? Go to Knott’s Scary Farm.

I don’t want all original ips but more characters who create a lore for the event is just fun

But it’s funny to me to saw “I don’t want to use other people hand me downs” when literally that’s what an IP house is

anyway I just want him to try more things with original houses, after 10 years of Latin inspired houses aren’t you a little board? Aliens? Other cultures? Your own twisted Version of fairy tales? The Crowz finally getting a house?

HHN will be successful if you allow for some newer ideas

Part of the reason People love Art and FNAF because they felt fresh and new

There is some truth to this, but there's also no reason you can't have both IP and originals in more equal measure. Especially when originals may take some of the crush of crowds/lines from the high demand IPs and result in a more pleasurable experience. Orlando manages to do this successfully.

But this also probably leads to the problem: where exactly do you put those extra original mazes? Orlando does have a lot more space to work with than we do.

Couldn't have said it better myself

For the space, now probably wouldnt be the best time (and Murdy doesnt have originals as a priority) so I hope they figure something out when proper park expansion happens. Even if they manage to get that 9th house venue at the hillside up and running, if it went to IP I'd still be insanely happy. I hope for a future where there is space for both, and one doesn't take away from the other anymore.

Killers Clowns has been announced for Orlando....I saw someone post Hollywood as well but can't find anyone else saying that...but we all know its coming, lol (also it is super funny we've had 5 announcements in Orlando since the last Hollywood update)

Here is hoping we are getting an updated ending, from the rumors because the end of the house looks different then the past 2 times

I like this house, so I'm cool with it back but would also not mind them doing something fun like having a clown or clowns roaming the lower lot like Art did to spice up the event more and hype people up more

In retrospect, I think we got spoiled by Halloween 4 actually being substantially different than the original maze (largely because it was a reskinned Halloween 3 house). I'm not expecting huge changes myself.

It’s funny how different I view a returning house with changes vs. returning unchanged. I would be much more excited if there was a new / plussed scene. Much less excited if not.

The announcement itself is strictly an Orlando scarezone, so  technically it hasn't been announced for Hollywood yet.

what is the holdup man :sob:

At least on the third go give it some changes

A first Return on an amazing house like Scarcrow, I get it but this is the third time

Like I said, maybe they will let some of the clowns outside the house and roam since Art did so well and create lots of free advertisement

I vote for no USH announcements and we all just figure it out when we show up :)

I'm watching Five Fires right now, looks like some tickets for the event went up 10 bucks for its lowest day and then the 2 PM after express went down 10 bucks for its lowest day

Next year, I need to take pictures of the prices so I can check more often

Seems like Murdy and the Hollywood crew hate… not lore and original characters persay, since Horror Hotel 2 and the 4 straight Latin Originals prove they love making that kind of stuff. I think the issue is the idea of “Icons”, and they don’t want to lean too far into any one original character to differentiate from Orlando.

I wonder if that’s why the Hollywood Harry feature that was rumored was scrapped.

I know I am almost certainly in the minority here, but I have never been a fan of the icons.
