They bring La Llorona here and execute it correctly like Jimmy said and you have a potential HOTY. It was so good!

Wonder where that Resident Evil rumor came from as well as the info regarding American Werewolf and Silent Hill replacing it...

God.. I hope they stop with licensing properties. All of the IP houses last year were garbage compared to the originals. This "rumor" makes me nervous about HHN23. We were always so much better off without IPs and I hope absolutely none of it is true.

I think there is a way to market your IP's and to not over saturate yourself. Carnival of Carnage had 3 great IP's and from a marketing stand point I would say it was phenomenally successful. Then you have the whole point of using IP's and making decent houses and I'd reference 17 and 19 once more.

At the same time, I HATE the argument that HHN shouldn't have IP's and EP's (Existing Properties). IP's are the very thing that have been with this event since the beginning. Just because Universal owns them does not change the fact that they properties. On top of that Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure's success if built upon properties. Here are just the big ones: Men In Black, Marvel, Seuss, Harry Potter, The Simpsons and Transformers. If anything Universal using IP's is something that is engraved in them. It is what they do as far as design goes. I can happily agree, that yes, 4 properties with the marketing being shoved down our throat is overkill. However, to rule it out completely is a bit much.

I think IPs are fine. I have no problem with them. I just hope the majority of the event isn't IPs.

I mean, does Uni really think people showed up to the event for Alice Cooper, Penn and Teller, and Silent Hill? I doubt it. Most of the crowds came from Walking Dead, not the other 3. Maybe the others attracted a few people, but not like TWD.

To be fair, the Penn & Teller house was at least pretty cool.

The irony in that though is Walking Dead imo was the worst house out of all of the ones you mentioned.

I liked the P&T and the Silent Hill houses just fine. But my point is they weren't IPs that were going to drive attendance at the event. IMO both could have been original houses and it wouldn't have changed the event for most people.

I agree on both accounts, but I do think that the queue video that was on at the P&T house was a pretty cool little thing that wouldn't have ben the same if it wasn't done by them.

That's how I feel about it too. To reference Carnival of Carnage again, they had Dead Silence and The Thing that year as well. They however did not market them and just took them for what they were: Movies/Properties that could translate well into a haunted house but wouldn't necessarily bring that many more people into the parks.

Seemed to me from the second I made it over to the Walking Dead area last year you knew it'd be back. Absolute chaos. It sells. I don't want to say I'm excited but I certainly wouldn't object to a season 3 prison house if it's done correctly.

As for the other mentioned IPs, American Werewolf... I basically have no opinion on. Haven't seen it.

I love the idea of Resident Evil if it's done the way it was in Japan. Pretty awesome.

American Horror Story is huge... seems like many teenage girls love it. Add that in with TWD, and you're going to have mindnumbingly large crowds.

For those of you that did not like the Walking Dead house, had you not watched show before the seeing the house? While I agree it wasn't the scariest house (partially due to the location, especially if you went before sun down where every room was lighted) it was still fun to go though if you were a fan of the series. Walking through the scenes from the show was pretty cool, plus seeing some hidden gems that you would not know about unless you were a fan of the series. And it seemed as though it was consistently the most popular house (based on wait times when I was there). Having a well know and popular IP can only be good for HHN as it will pull more people in, which means more money for Comcast. Which we have seen, they are willing to spend money when they feel money can be made. I will say that was may favorite corner of the park after dark. With the theme music, roaming zombies, station wagon and occasional blast of fire (and who doesn't like that) it was pretty cool. Wasn't the best house, but overall I thought it was a worthy addition to the setlist last year and hope they have Walking Dead or another IP this year.

If they do have WD again, I would assume it would bring in more crowds than last year. So they really would need one more house to soak up the mass of people.

For me, the WD just took over the event last year. As someone who thinks the show is bad, it was just overkill.

Would hate to see the same thing happen again.

The show doesn't really do it for me, but I did enjoy the house the two times I went through it. I just have no interest in seeing any house, original or IP, returning two years in a row.
