If they sold upwards of 10,000 tickets at $400 a pop, it's coming back next year. In what form, I do not know. But they're not going to give up on something this profitable so quickly.

I still hold the belief that the premium scream night is just a smart influencer tax. With that said, I think there's room for maybe 1-2 extra nights in September/October that could generate some interest. So maybe the solution is to sell a limited amount for the first one (to prevent negative influencer reviews) , with 1-2 extra nights later on in the event with a higher capacity limit.

Yeah I think this will not only return, but expand throughout the event run. How, not sure since the event already runs Wed-Sun and the entire team needs 2 days of rest.

Deathly Afraid Necklace Review
  • My girlfriend doesn't like scares so we purchased the necklace for here, and the SAs still scared me So for those worried it would ruin the experience for others, no need to worry.

Two tier option? Premium night at a higher price and with less guests than this most recent one, then a second one with more guests than Premium but still less than what you’d see on a normal night. Second one would be lower price with fewer perks such as 1-2 free meals instead of unlimited and no pulsing of line, as an example.

Sounds too complicate and I can see the lines for guest service as people are not gonna realize its 2 tiers and demand the same experience as the one they just saw on twitter or demand their money back lol. I think they can take the best of both years and make it work, fine tune it for next year without having to have multi days.

Reduce supply, increase price. 10K @ $400 and 7.5K @ $533 both come out to about $4 million in ticket sales. Pulse houses 6-8pm and 12-2am. Standard conga from 8-12pm to reduce average wait time during peak hours.

At $533
-$100 standard entry
-$225 average express
-$75 food and beverage

Can you find $133 value in getting to be “first”? Maybe, maybe not.

$499 special launch price, then raise up to standard pricing closer to event as FOMO kicks in.

I could see a "first" night -- capped at 10k like this year's event and primarily geared toward influencers and those who want to brag on social media -- then another one or two "premium" nights throughout the year -- capped at significantly lower attendance (5k?), for those who truly want a pulsed, all-you-care-to-eat experience. If anything, I think 2025 proved there is a market for that, if guests actually believe the event can deliver, and that prices around $500 probably aren't that unreasonable for it.

(Finishing the thread, I see @UniversalRBLX and @Rhian have the same idea, but reversing it. I personally think a crowd will continue to show up for the first night, simply to be first, but the later events would need to be much higher priced and much more tightly controlled. Should even have different names to avoid confusion.)

Time for my annual question:

How much is it "cameras down" on the 6 house Unmasking the Horror Tour?

Want to keep it spoiler free for everybody here, so just something like "Terrifier only allowed photos in 1 room, Fallout 3 rooms plus facade, Galkin was cameras up the whole time, etc." Just looking for a non-spoiler summary so I know if it's worth bringing my good camera and lugging it around for 15 hours one day into HHN night....or just use my phone if there are very few pictures you can take on the tour.

Thanks in advance for any info/insight anybody can provide.

Apparently 7K (correct me if I am wrong, please) was the cap for premium and they sold out. I will NOT pay 533 or even half of that for the experience I (most guest) had on Thursday night.

And why are your prices so inflated?

it cost like 85-90 for a week night
express is like 200
With each food item being around 10.00 each (and drinks) the average guest is spending like 50.00 on food for themselves.

That's like 350, 200 less (based on going on a week night which the premium nights are held). Anything more than the current price point, you might as well do the RIP.

I have no idea what the cap was on tickets, I just used 10K as an easy number to make a 25% crowd reduction off of. Scale accordingly to whatever the actual ticket numbers were, and however much capacity % you’d hypothetically want to see the event reduced by.

I paid about $320 for opening night and express, so I based the numbers off that (factoring that entry/express raise up slightly each year as well). I have an express pass at the end of September for $250 and if you look at October it’s pushing towards $300. When the food and mocktails are free, I think you see people trying more items than they typically would, which is where I ballparked $75, but you’re mileage may vary person to person.

Ultimately, I agree with you that an RIP tour does make more sense. But this is marketed as the ultimate one-night experience for the biggest HHN fans, and should be priced accordingly. When I dropped $200+ on opening night express, it hurt, but I knew that I would rather pay $200 and have almost no wait for anything (longest I had was Terrifier at maybe 20 mins), than pay $100 but have twice as many people clogging up express. Same principle applies to Premium Night, in my opinion.

(Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it was a long weekend without much sleep)

Galkin was cameras up except for one particular object, Artista was pretty open, just a couple rooms that were cameras down, Fallout and Terrifier were the opposite, only a few rooms that were cameras up, Jason was pretty cameras up, except for the one scene that I really wanted to get a picture of! And WWE felt a touch less than 50/50 with even some restrictions in the photos up room (no taking pics of a certain list on paper)

For sure Universal would (hopefully) come up with separate names to differentiate the offerings. There’s always going to be some small percentage of confused guests though.

Still, it’s not unheard of to have ticket tiers that might confuzzle some folks. Options available for this year’s HHN alone:
  • RIP Tour
  • Unmasking the Horror Tour
  • Rush of Fear Pass
  • Frequent Fear Pass
  • Frequent Fear Plus Pass
  • Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass
Not that I like the names but calling it "Premium Night" and "Premium Night Plus" would not be too different than the names offered for other tickets. This is where reading what you’re buying matters.

Having done both, at $533 I would rather do a RIP tour, personally. Heck, the ROF+X is around that price point, isn't it?

I say keep the same price, reduce capacity, but the food isnt free. Seems guests want more lower lines not to sample food.

You could also include some kind of tasting pass for 3-5 items as a happy medium between a free-for-all and totally eliminating the benefit.

Still, one weekend of that averages out to like 200+ a night? Still a far better deal.

I think Premium Scream night included parking (which I imagine a lot of the clientele for the product are passholders/do not need included parking) but it is something that would be listed as part of the value equation (I feel like the Ultimate uses included parking to really price it up compared to other multi day passes).

The one thing that puzzles me the most is that it felt (to me) less crowded than TM preview night. I do not know how many turn out on TM night, I just know the workforce grew by the amount it takes to run another theme park this year so more were eligible to attend this year-- so if TM preview had 10K and premium had 7K (just tossing numbers) -- well to me if they need to lower attendance to make it work, they would need to jack up the cost (I assume they do not want things that sell out too fast -- I mean it seemed like folks were complaining it was sold out this year, if they reduced availability it would just sell quicker unless price is the deterrent.

Anyway, in my years of attending, outside of late add on dates or some past Saturdays early in, I'm not sure I have experienced many nights where attendance ran in the 7K - 10K range.

Maybe this years' setup keeps more people near the houses making the streets feel less crowded.

Glad I'm not the one that needs to make any discissions on the matter (they I would not mind seeing some real data points ;-)

I think the main issue is when does that 2nd or 3rd night happen during the event's calendar? Does it take over an existing night or are they able to add a Monday/Tuesday night?

Definitely seems like the easiest/best solution. Most posts were focused on F&B locations being swamped.
