Like I said previously, they can use reuse the Insidious layout with a different IP or even an original. It's happened before

Red hot take:

Insidious is one of the most overrated houses in HHN history and its return as an 11th house would be beneficial solely because it would give crowds another line to stand in.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. I will be leaving very rapidly through the back door.

I loved Insidious... but a complete reuse of the previous event's house will, in my opinion, cheapen the HHN brand.

I still think additional entertainment will do more for capacity than an additional house.

My favorite thing about Insidious is the old guy in his underpants shouting, “They took your baby” like Jimmy Durante.

“Good night, Missus Calabash…”

I loved the house. Saying it’s overrated doesn’t mean I think it’s bad. I just think a lot of people were putting it on a higher pedestal than it deserved

I'm more curious on how opinions would shape when it doesn't have the benefit of being the only scary house

Need i point you to the history of HHN where returning houses were a common thing during the early years? Or the back-to-back repeat of Screamhouse?

Also... the "brand" was cheapened (well... tainted) with 6 years of TWD. Or when it went mainstream to have merch at Hot Topic (and now Amazon).

The "Gothic Effect" for sure.

That said, I love when the hot takes I get eviscerated for become conventional wisdom in a year or two. :p

Here's my thing - people ranted and raved about how SCARY Insidious was.

When you simply don't get scared walking through these houses, "scariness" isn't factored into judgement lol

While not quite to this extreme, the idiom "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king" comes to mind regarding last year's Insidious house.

I've never really liked Insidious' iterations at HHN until last year (2015 was fine but overrated and the first Horrors of Blumhouse was meh imo), and even though it was my HOTY, it was far from the most visually impressive house. The cast is what made it stand out, which could easily lose steam in a repeat year like AWIL. The creative team can design a new house with wall to wall scares than reuse Insidious again.

I still don't quite understand why this argument comes up - there were multiple banger houses last year.

HHN has evolved beyond reusing houses from previous events. The event is at a different standard than any other event, and should be treated as such.

It was in Hollywood... although doing it alone vs every boohole filled definitely played into that "swear fest" experience lol

Yeah - I was mostly referring to the fact that the "scares" don't affect someone who doesn't get scared lol

Precisely.

The cast was very good - but frankly, I almost always find HHN casts to be very good, so that doesn’t really differentiate it. In terms of concept, set design, costuming, wit, etc, it just didn’t have a lot to offer.

I mean, who goes to a horror event to get scared? I’M certainly not the weird one for going to look at the pretty sets… right? Right?
