If resources can be better used around the park by not having a San Fran scarezone in favor of just a little hangout spot, good! I'm more than okay with this, that section of the park has been rough with how crowds have grown over the years. This goes doubly so with people's worries about Rockit this year. Let's cross our fingers for that lagoon show, because this is a step in the right direction.

I think the distinction is that there probably won't be any scenic props associated with the Mel's Zombies (other than the DIE-IN sign itself, which is always there), so it'll be more of a horde than a zone.

Good to see them evolve the event to modern day crowds (and lean more into "traditional" Halloween aesthetics and the HHN fandom). It was well known that SF was not working as a scare zone for a few years now.

Anything that gets more people to the Hollywood area of the park is good with me.

The event so far.... (*assuming WWE is remaining announcement and we are getting a lagoon show)

I thought Origins of Horror was going to be in AOTS/Minions area this year?

Assuming if it's on a similar scale to Dia De Los Muertos, don't expect the funding to not be given to this. With them already constructing truss structures and having a stand for a DJ on the side of the lagoon, I actually expect a fair bit of scenic.

If anything--I wonder if Club Horror has a liquor sponsor. Hollywood for Dia De Los Muertos if memory serves, actually has a promiment and established sponsor/connection with Modello, and I have to wonder if Club Horror will do similar.

I’m a bit confused by the logic - won’t turning San Fran into a hangout/dance/photo op spot make the bottleneck problem worse? Seems like it might be best just to leave that area largely vacant.

I’m also a bit disappointed because I suspect the Mel’s zombies thing means the Hollywood scarezone will be truncated as it was in 2024.

PS: Just saw the structures being built in the dance zone over in the construction thread. I’m just not sure how this alleviates the bottleneck issue.

My guess is it'll be just some enhanced lighting and music with light decorations. Enough to make it feel like they did something, but not something so compelling that you feel like you need to stop and clog up the street. It's a unique (and challenging) problem to have.

(I also wonder if "Club Horror" [yeesh these names] will include the Peacock Bar area?)

I hope you’re correct, but the artwork seems to indicate some lightly costumed dancers. Based on the Hollywood model (and for the sake of safety) I assumed they would be on raised platforms. It also seems like they may be building a DJ stand.

I really liked the photo op with the Scareactors at the bar across from Mel’s last year. Hopefully those don’t get shifted here - although I suppose there’s space at the Peacock bar if that gets absorbed into this area.

I could see them doing the "go go dancer" setup that Hollywood had for many years post-relaunch and that I believe Orlando utilized for a few characters for that Rob Zombie zone. All of those dancers were on raised platforms, so I'd expect the same here.

I believe they already announced the "HHN Bar" by Mel's was returning, so I'd expect those photo opportunities there. I'm just wondering if they add additional characters or photo ops to the Peacock Bar area and roll it all into the "club" theming.

Yeah they revealed HHN Bar was returning but nothing as of yet on the HHN Tribute Store, so pretty much everything or at least almost everything is out there for this year.

They'd also be removing many of the tricks they use for scare zone "scares" (i.e., obstacles, dark lighting, heavy fog). You clear the pathway and keep any of the characters away from the main walkway, and it should be fine.

I remember seeing that there were cuts to HHN Bar last year - and I'm curious what may have been cut.

Can't go beyond that, unfortunately.

Rob Zombie zone was actually fun in my opinion, last good SF scare zone

Don't get rid of the Fog. They have been stingy on the fog lately.

It's interesting that they're doing a dance zone again. From my knowledge, Orlando hasn't had one since Studio 666 in 2002 at IOA.

I'm interested in how they execute "Street Experiences" but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little concerned about the execution of these.
