Didn’t they say they wanted to leave it running until next year? Good lord, they want that thing dead as fast as possible!

Not a fan of the fact that the lagoon show is themed exclusively to stranger things. This will probably be a one and done for me

This sounds like it would make a very fun lagoon show.

You and me both. In words of Woody the Cowboy: “Oh Yeah well Good Riddance you Looney!” :nervous::mad: Seriously though, that ride made “Stitch’s Great Escape!” look like “Monsters Unchained.”

They wanted to balance the ST lagoon show announcement with the Supercharged closure for the IU crowd specifically.

I don’t post much on here but thought you all might want to see this. Not sure if it’s legit or not.

I am one of the people that have been spoiled by FF with express and will miss it but it’s not gonna ruin my thoughts about going to HHN. I will still buy the pass and enjoy the event every night. As others have said, this should make lines go down.

I mean if this is a real convo with Universal, I assume this is legit, I’m assuming all they are
doing is copy and pasting canned answers to FAQs like this, so it has to have come from somewhere.

I will add, this does suck as I could’ve bought express months ago and saved 100 bucks or so for the 2 nights I was gonna buy express for anyways.

Yeah, I think if Express isn't an option - it won't result in a shortage of locals buying FFPs regardless

And with that I’m gonna echo @Jake S for everybody and leave a gentle reminder that while things are different this year, there’s still a great event to attend and to keep discussions about the changes at a calmer level.

How about - everyone that argues about it again, owes Brian and Jake a drink at HHN this year? (They'll have more money to do so because they don't have Express)

I haven’t been here in forever, but I want to discuss it because this is super interesting to me. I would consider myself and my wife about as big of horror nights fans as you can get, meaning we plan our whole year around it and my house is decorated with props and such actually from the original houses. That being said, express is just not a make or break for me. I’ve been getting it with our passes since about 2023 and personally I’ve loved it, but it was purely just because it felt like it was a steel compared to getting it without and compared to buying it nightly.

I will say, for us I don’t even think one night of it is worth it for what they are asking from a price perspective. I would rather wait in an hour to two hour long lines per house and just go multiple nights then pay upwards of $250 per person for express for one night lol. So I’m really curious how this ends up shaking out for universal from a financial perspective. It could change again for all we know next year or the year after or something else could come as well.

We ended up literally all of five minutes ago using the money we would’ve used for express to get the premium scream night instead which still turned out cheaper than what it would’ve cost to purchase our fear passes with express, so we will just get regular fear passes now on top of that. With that being said, as much as I’m looking forward to the premium scream night, that also brings up the point of food and beverages. If all of that is included basically with premium screen, once I try everything I doubt I will go back and try other things unless it’s something I just really love and want to eat. I tend to purchase everything one time at the event and then decide what I want every night and we’ll go back and only get the things I really like. So financially, that is more money lost from Universal’s pocket because now I’m not going to be buying the food every night as well since I’m gonna do the premium night which includes it for that night to try. I certainly hope it’s better than last year‘s premium night, but I’m just pumped either way to see what ends up happening. I know they learned and sent out something apologizing and giving people money off so hopefully this year it’s pretty awesome.

Wow, end of an era. As a long-time ROF+Express buyer, it's a bummer. But like others have said before, if they're able to turn it into a "x number of nights of your choosing with express" product in the future, it might be more beneficial to most who bought multi-night passes and couldn't utilize every night they offered.

The best way to respond is to vote with your wallet. Either cancel plans and don’t go or just spend less when you’re there. If this truly upsets you, don’t cave in and buy a bunch of single night Express tickets. If you want to still go to the event (like I absolutely do), just spend less money. Buy less merchandise, get fewer snacks, don’t buy full price Express.

That is rough

If the line times go down then it will be worth it but if the lines are still 90-2 hours at the bigger houses then just kind of sucks for locals

I would love to see what the numbers look like for FFP w/ Express and one night of Premium Scream. I wonder if that's the replacement (and could see more of those next year) revenue model that makes it worth it for UO to get rip of FFP w/ Express because you improve the guest feedback on the traditional nights and then provide an offering to the die-hard locals (and those who travel) who want that same experience, but amped up.

It is astounding to me that no other option was given for Express at all. So, it's individual night express? That will add up to well beyond what I've ever paid for that pass. I'm thinking it might be time to scale back the number of trips we take. As much as that pains me, this is a major financial blow, and I cannot justify paying what will be approx $4000 just in Express for my wife and I to attend the same amount of nights we've always done. That's just stupid. And before someone says - oh just go without it - the answer is no. I've already given my reasons why numerous times (for which you all probably don't care AT ALL). Congrats, Uni - you finally cracked my HHN junkie habit. I'll attend - but it won't be nearly as frequently.

They purposely did this for a year with Ozzy so they knew they wouldn't totally lose you
