For what it’s worth, to get the UPAP discount for an Epic Universe ticket, each AP holder has to buy their own as the ticket attaches to the AP. I assume it’s the same for HHN, but certainly worth calling to ask.

Yeah, that's a whole ordeal my wife and I have struggled with in the past. We had separate accounts before we met and it took Guest Services over an hour to figure out how to move her pass to my account's travel party. We wanted them merged because it was impossible for us both to get day-of stand by Mardi Gras float riding slots separately. And then months later her pass randomly moved back to her account so we have to go back and have them fix it again.

But I digress..

I was able to get it all figured out. The UOAP HHN ticket web store is different from the store on the app where it doesn't use your regular login, just the Passholder ID and last name so the travel party stuff doesn't apply. And when you check out, it asks what name to apply to each ticket so I was able to buy both of ours in one purchase.

Well, they're gone. This wasn't about anything other than going after Legacy instead of "being accurate," which, if that were the case, they would've called out others who've been wrong, too.

@Latveria, by liking Quebec's post, I assume you agree? Because if that's the case, I can show you the door, too. I'm tired of this crap.

Which brings me toooooo.....

Here's the issue.

Lately, everyone wants to play the rumor game and be "in the know". Anybody can try to connect the dots, but if you're going to play that game, you also have to be willing to accept that you're going to be wrong sometimes, but most importantly, vet your sources.

Instead, we've seen that if a rumor doesn't come true, there must be other reasons it's wrong.

Remember when people were absolutely convinced Universal was going to announce Hollywood Harry vs. Jack at MegaCon?

And when those "rumors" didn't pan out, instead of saying, "We got that one wrong," it was something else that must've happened.

The latest example - and the source of this latest nonsense - was the claim that Evil Dead Burn had been "pulled" because it wasn't announced when some people expected it to be.

So people tried to add some clarification by pointing out that, if anything were to be pulled, it would more likely be Terrifier due to its very public legal dispute over the rights, and that Universal is currently trying to figure it out. They were never part of the lawsuit, but with Art being an important part of their plans this year, Universal absolutely needs to ensure they are clear of any litigation while the lawsuit is pending resolution. Seemingly, they did, and here we are today.

If you want to ignore the actual breadcrumbs surrounding Terrifier, be my guest; but there's a reason Universal handled Killer Klowns with a simple "More info soon" tease during Scare Zone/Show week instead of the usual announcement... (The irony is that none of this happens if people don't immediately assume that Evil Dead Burn not being announced meant it had been pulled.)

So, in short, the issue is that people are convincing themselves of every other possibility except the simplest one: the rumor was never accurate to begin with. One assumption leads to another, and suddenly everyone's arguing over rumors that only exist because people keep filling in the blanks themselves.

These days, rumors have carried more weight than proven track records because they're usually more exciting than reality.

HHN is unique because the event never really has an offseason. The speculation machine resets almost immediately after the previous year ends, and fans start building their own versions of the event. Rumors become facts, wish lists become expectations, and before long, those same fans have convinced themselves they know better.

It's possible it got wrapped up, but it's also possible a judge, or at least those involved, made it clear that any 3rd party agreements will not be held liable, no matter the outcome of the lawsuit.

Respectfully going to bring up something I brought up on Downtown Clown Town; but I think it's important to bring it here. If the situation for Art would've called for drastic changes; then why did Behavior Interactive not delay the announcement of Terrifer for Dead By Daylight not even two days after the initial filing of the copyright lawsuits.

I think when you consider how far out they have to plan, adjust, and work with the various parties; that Universal would've had multiple safety nets put in place before dramatic changes would need to be in place to prevent the use of the "Terrifer" IP. I also suspect that with just how successful the incorporation of "Art The Clown" was on his own terms last year--that having him remain on his own level without the ties to the Terrifer naming makes sense.

It's not like the Killer Klowns from Outer Space, where the name of the group is the name of the IP (And that you can't separate specific clown characters in that). I think for Orlando--it just made logical sense that if they were going to use only Art The Clown for their clown based scarezone with other IP clowns; that Art would stand on his own two feet.

I also think there is an element where one should consider Orlando and Hollywood acting on different levels when in comparison to eachother; because at the end of the day both events work at differing scales that benefit eachother.

The plans one has for one IP, might never be the same exact as that of the other. And that's ok.

Because different companies handle risk differently. Universal errs on the side of extreme caution, sometimes to a fault. I can tell you with certainty that the plan was for all of the scare zones to be announced that week, until it became clear the lawsuit had some actual traction.

I don't think the Dead by Daylight comparison is really the same situation. They announced it two days after the lawsuit was filed, when nobody knew whether it would even become a real issue. Universal had more time and more information to evaluate the situation. Totally different situation.

At the end of the day, just because one company goes for it doesn’t mean the other has to.

For the record, I would love to see that house one day. I think the battle of the coasts would be fun.

Like @Brian G. said, it seems that every year there's a rumor of an IP coming - and when it doesn't come, people say "they lost that IP."

When in reality, they never had it to begin with.

See: Game of Thrones, Nightmare on Elm Street, Resident Evil, etc

And sometimes, it's the other way around! A lot of people didn't wanna believe Fortnitemares was legit.

We got one more house to announce this year, and then I'll do my usual HHN AMA (within reason) once it becomes official.

Was “Us” scooped up at the last minute for HHN 29 or was it always in play (with Revenge of the Tooth Fairy as the back up in case “Us” fell thru?).
