I tend to only read this area of the site as we get close to the event. I scanned through this thread a bit and wanted to say a couple of things.

I still see people being confused over RoF (like something was taking away) ...... IMHO, the UoR perspective has always been that it includes the first three weeks of the event, back when the event started the 2nd week of Sept., fans turned that into....RoF includes all of Sept. When the event moved to start a week earlier, it shifted where those 'first three weeks' fell.

Has anyone mentioned the idea of a time when parking becomes free? (I believe it was midnight last year, I believe it does not exists this year).

Now that the parks can sell an individual 'express now' for an attraction when Express capacity allows, will we see individual house Express being offered in the APP?

TM preview takes place over two nights this year (TMs still only get one night, but last year was way too crowded for the type of event it use to be, so happy to see it split, plus it gives two days of test before the adjust so hopefully a little more together for Premium Scream Night.

Happy session all! Have fun!

Methinks I will get drunk Tuesday night and cry my way through the Ozzy house.

While I do firmly agree with that, we all thought the same for Nuka Cola with Fallout last year and that never officially materialized.

Isn’t Nuka Cola licensed to a separate soda company? That was the hiccup last year. Hollywood has Slurp Juice no reason for it to not be over here.

I actually didn’t think about that but yes, Jones currently is allowed to use the Nuka Cola name for their products. However what’s interesting is that they also were allowed to use/have Sunset Sarsparilla as well, but Hollywood had that as a drink last year, so it was very strange. I also don’t understand why Orlando wouldn’t have some sort of Fortnite food/beverage this year. It just seems like a really odd choice. Also really interesting is that it seems like neither Hollywood nor Orlando are getting any Killer Klowns themed food. There’s the themed “baked goods” like the macarons and the rice crispy treat, but no actual food at the booths. For Orlando since it’s just a zone I guess that makes sense “kinda” but in Hollywood it’s a full blown house.

I honestly think it boils down to timing. Orlando locks in the entirety of their event much earlier than Hollywood does (see Obsession appearing in Hollywood and not Orlando). From my understanding, Fortnitemares was the last IP to get secured. Zones are normally last to get developed, but securing an IP zone “late” (March) can really cause issues for Orlando’s design team. Remember, Orlando is bigger than Hollywood and starts earlier. A single late change can have significant impacts on the rest of the event. And that includes food. (This is also why I think the Fortnitemares merch isn’t has complicated as the other IPs.)

Now, do I think they could have renamed a couple of things and redesigned one booth for Fortnitemares? Theoretically. But which one do you replace? Is the booth in CP equipped for the most “Fortnite-esque” food? If it’s not, what does that do.

Basically, Orlando was probably too far ahead in all of its planning for this year to best integrate Fortnitemares. Hollywood is way more flexible.

Halloween Horror Nights 35 is set to kick off next Friday at Universal Studios Florida, but eager fans who can't wait for the fog were able to get a first look at three of this year's original houses by reserving an Unmasking the Horror tour.

So it is safe to assume that there was another zone they had planned for Central Park before Fortnitemares was acquired?

That could explain the location - especially with Downtown Clowntown needing the entirety of NY and Sideshow of Decay fitting perfectly in Hollywood. CP may have been the only spot that would have made sense without shifting nearly everything else.

That’s what I’m thinking. CP makes the most sense for Fortnitemares this year.

No. It doesn’t mean it replaced anything. It have been planned for a while but taken time to secure it. But not securing it early could have meant that that they had to lock other things in before it was secured. For example, if food booth designs had to get designs locked in before Fortnite was secure (which normally wouldn’t be an issue because zones don’t get booths), then they likely wouldn’t have designed a booth in case they couldn’t secure it. And without a booth, they wouldn’t design food.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this but I am finally attending my first Orlando HHN after over a decade of wanting to attend ever since I saw the art of the scare special. Been going to HHN Hollywood since 2007 so I am somewhat seasoned to how things go. I have express and I am only unfortunately able to attend the event for one night but I was looking for any tips or suggestions. I really cant believe I am going, ive been dreaming about this forever. Thanks!

personally the thing that gets me is the Florida heat and the humidity. it can be brutal. the sun goes down around 8, so that's 2 full hours of some sunlight here and there.
I would suggest sunglasses, light clothing, water,

the houses are pretty cold but the outside is very warm and humid,

Bring a water bottle that you feel comfortable holding all day (or a bag to keep it in). The Coke Freestyle machines are all over the park and provide free water/ice. If you want, feel free to purchase a Freestyle mug at the event if you want unlimited soda or powerade as well.

So what if they just project things on the arch’s this year. Why the white scrims are up.

That is not the reason they are up. From what has been said online, rumor is that Universal found structural damage in the arches that needs to be fixed ASAP. They were also rumored to be looking at repainting the arches after HHN, but since they were already going to have to start work on them, they decided to just move up the entire project and get everything done now. I would personally not expect any kind of HHN theming this year unless they are able to get this work done in record time.

Yeah - not that it's official or anything, but i saw a comment from someone claiming to be a TM saying they were told that the scrim will likely be up until at least November.

So that would mean.. no medallion! :(

Yes, selling the option for Friday.

(Plus they'd have an AP/Influencer riot on their hands by 2:05 if they didn't.)

So sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I didn't see in Brian's article or otherwise - when will the hotel venues like Jake's American Bar at Royal Pacific or Thirsty Fish at Portofino have the full HHN overlays? I get in Wednesday night in advance of Premium Scream, and would love to visit those two in particular that evening if they're ready to go.
