In terms of Blumhouse movies they could pair with Black Phone 2, they could do the first M3gan, or they could go for an upcoming movie like Soulm8te or Other Mommy. Other Mommy is based on a book with a lot of HHN potential.

I’m guessing that Hellraiser is “Balloon”.

Hellraiser has Pinhead. Pins pop balloons.

If they’re using a Buzz Aldrin connection, then yeah. BzzzCon.

If they’re going with a shuttle name option—The lost city of Atlantis.

EDIT - Based on the location, I think Atlantis is more likely.

I know This is a BIG stretch, but what if “Balloon” is a remake house to Killer Klowns From Outer Space? That was the first thing that came to my head when I heard Balloon. (Before you write it down) YES, I am aware they had it back in 2019, but the chances of this being a one to one clone of the 2019 layout is very low, it would most likely be a brand new layout (ala “Texas Chainsaw” and “Halloween”.)

Plus, one VERY important thing I should bring up is that last year at HHN 2024, Universal had been given out surveys on what I.P’s “we” want to see return in the future. They had an “Other” option on the list, and based on what I have learned from Team members, a large portion of those answers was KKFOS! So I would say the chances of it returning are on the table, it’s just a matter of when, and if it would be for HHN 35 or not.

P.S,
Is it me, or are the shapes of a hot air balloon very similar to a cotton candy cocoon? Very Interesting.

Ya, good point. I think M3gan 2.0 makes the most sense given how popular M3gan is. My money is on that being paired with Black Phone 2 now.

That box office performance and M3GAN popcorn bucket being the only thing to go on sale towards the end of the season might say otherwise.

Man, idk if I needed the snarky response :/, but it is what it is.

Let's be real. The general public still goes nuts over M3gan. Regardless of how M3gan 2.0 did at the box office (and I personally didn't care for the sequel either...) we all know that if M3gan came back to HHN, there would be hordes of crowds going crazy over her. People love the character. It's less about how "well" the sequel performed and more about how popular the IP is as a whole.

I didn't mean for that to come across as snarky in any way, I apologize. I'm not sure though I'd put all my chips in on M3GAN returning, heck I felt pretty confident the dance hoard from the summer would return for HHN, yet they didn't. I think the SOULM8TE spinoff's reception will ultimately determine the fate of that franchise.

Not just box office, but the merch didn't seem to sell very well, considering how long the merch was sitting on the shelves at a dramatically lowered price (like $4-7 popcorn buckets).

Anecdotally, as much as I would have enjoyed a horde dance, my love for M3gan fell off with 2.0.

Just to toss some things out there..

Wondering why at almost the start of this thread, people are already talking about wanting to bring certain IPs back that we literally just had. The whole M3gan thing and FNAF - you got them. Be happy you got them in some form. I don't believe we want to start the wash, rinse, repeat cycle again like they did with TWD. The result of the repeated TWD years made me hate it so much, I stopped watching it. Sometimes too much of something makes it no longer a good thing.

I understand certain properties are going to repeat themselves in some form as the years go by because they are iconic (i.e. Jason, Freddy, Michael). Ok, I get that. But do we really need to keep repeating others - Black Phone, FNAF, etc? No, no we don't. HHN does not need to become the Blumhouse of haunts. Endless sequels are boring and lazy, and it's just frustrating and annoying.

I would much rather see them really go after some of the more creative and well made newer IPs like Sinners. THAT would be a killer house, and it's not the same old story, and it wasn't thrown together for a quick buck. There are also still many classic IPs that have never been touched (looking at you Phantasm or Fright Night or Lost Boys). I could make a giant list of some of the classics we've never seen at HHN. Why settle for more of the same when there is so much more to tap into?

I think discussion sometimes gets in a rut with the whole "oh this IP has a sequel coming out next year, so let's put it at HHN". NO! Let's NOT!

Of course, this is just my opinion. People love what they love. Just going for a little perspective injection.

I still think they should at least do the first M3gan as part of a house.

I don't think it's necessarily that people WANT these things to come back - just that they think it's likely lol

I don't really want FNAF to come back, but I'm assuming it probably will. As far as Black Phone, it will be 4 years since it's been at the event next year - and it's a sequel in a very different environment! (I don't want that either, lol)

Brother, I don't want either one. lol Also, 4 years is nothing, and they kept having the Grabber for the last two years for photops (because of course they did since Blumhouse is like a booger on everyone's finger.. always stuck there).

I don't know why people would think anything is likely to come just because a sequel was announced or whatever. I would hope Uni learned a lesson with TWD - after years in a row with that tripe, I'm sure the surveys blew up with WHAT ARE YOU DOING??!! STOP! There is a reason that most things need to be done in moderation or it just causes bigger issues.

Guess I was just trying to encourage a little more creative discussion instead of SSDD (IYKYK)

Oh I would much rather have any of the things that you mentioned - The Lost Boys is one of my biggest wishlist IPs.

As far as FNAF, I think the logic is that they spent SO much on those animatronics, and they're going to want to use them again lol. Luckily there's only 2 movies after next month!

For Black Phone, Universal just seems to be REALLY pushing it as the next big horror IP.

Like I said, I don't want to see either of them but I think it's pretty likely we'll get one or both. (and Stranger Things!)
