Do we have an idea for what the overarching theme will be? Is every major icon going to have their own house or is this it?

The overarching theme is Jack and Oddfellow's Infernal Circus of Nightmares (or ICON for short )

Nope. This is it. Chaos and Control is “the” icon house. They *may* appear in a zone, but their presence is not the story of the year.

It’s theoretically possible, but I’m not seeing it at the moment.

Nope. This is it. Chaos and Control is “the” icon house. They *may* appear in a zone, but their presence is not the story of the year.

It’s theoretically possible, but I’m not seeing it at the moment.

Just to clarify - it seems like some of the comments from Aiello indicate the event is fully encompassed by the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares,” so I would count that as the theme of the year solely based on that.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding or it’s semantics though, so feel free to correct. It feels like the next iteration of Carnival of Carnage ft. Oddfellow.

I wonder if they'll use the FFL Stage + the Lagoon to give another space for Jack and Oddfellow to riff at eachother.

The two of them leading a new magic show with horror elements would allow a unique sense of fun that could be had with two coworkers forced to be playing along. Don't even really need Chance to make it work, it'd kind of work like how Deadpool + Wolverine exchange eachother's barbs and jabs.

I'm pretty sure Legacy was answering the "is every major icon going to have their own house" question.

Mike was very clear that the Infernal Carnival of Nightmares was the overarching theme for HHN 35 much like the Conservatory was last year.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Jack's had the Chaos Emeralds for a decade, see?

Jack and Oddfellow are not friends but have realized that with their forces combined, they are unstoppable.

However, plenty of teases during the panel and in cards handed out afterwards that this alliance is destined to end with them turning on each other once more.

My guess would be that since the house is supposed to be the prequel, they team up by the end, BUT I bet they will have appearances outside the house (entrance show, zone, or something else) where they needle one another and try to prove that they are the better icon.

Did anybody see the new spec map that is going around this morning by hallowed out horror? Hellraiser isn't on it and Texas chainsaw showed up. Any traction to this rumor? I normally don't give this guy much attention but some of his artwork looks very specific.

I’d treat it as just another rumor map. I know HoH had a bit of a rocky start, but like most of these, it’s still pulling from the same shared rumor pool and hasn’t always lined up in recent years.

As an aside, I hate the whole “it’s just spec” disclaimer because it doesn’t really change when it’s presented the way it is. "This is basically happening… but also don’t hold me to it.” Spec maps made a lot more sense in a different era of the internet. Nowadays, it’s less about exploring possibilities and more about packaging something that looks definitive enough to drive clicks.

I really love how Horror Nights Nightmares shifted to icons. That format leaves room for actual speculation instead of trying to pass off a lineup with a safety net attached.

Taking it at face value, Jack origin house, Bloodengutz, Pumpkin Lord, Lightning Gulch, TCM -- it sounds like a huge nostalgia play. Even Ozzy, I realize he had a long, varied career, but the era that created music suitable to a haunt is mostly from when he was a Gen X/first wave Millennial icon. Other than Fortnite and ST (which seems a gamble after the final season), not a lot targeting the under 30 crowd.

My personal spec is with Gen Z not drinking, they need the old farts back to buy all the $12 beers and blinky cups.

ETA: fwiw, February 2025 map had 8.5 out of 10 house concepts (we can debate how accurate "Afterlife: City of Spirits" was), May 2025 map was 10/10. March 2024 map was cryptic but fairly could be said to have 5 out of 10 houses. Ironically the April 2024 map dropped down to just 3 accurate houses.
