Right now, the 6 house tour is completely sold out for all of September. The first morning of release, do you think this is a glitch or real?

Was wondering this for the 3 house, doesn't start until October.

Got my 6 house for opening weekend and called back and got my 2 discounted Premium Scream tickets!

S&S last year was so good. Yes it was a little spread out but that’s HHN. If you knew what you were doing you could do plenty.

• 13-hour shifts has to mean a third shift of actors--that's three full casts extra now (with the option to add more). I'm not sure Orlando can supply that. I'm not sure UOR is truly willing to pay for that. I kind of assumed the shift to less staffing in houses was to free up actors for an 11th house, but maybe it was this.

My thoughts exactly. Houses opening at 2pm till 2am will be 12 hours. Plus an hour probably for set up/make up. A 3rd cast is a must for that. Do we know how many houses will be open? I imagine only 1 or 2.

HHN seems to be reluctant from pricing out general admission, while becoming more popular from upgrades like express, RIP, etc. You can see how there's a jump in price post-TWD, and then post-Stranger Things it gets wild.


Assuming we see price hikes similar to previous year for multi-night passes, prices could range the following:

Seen some mention of an additional cast - How would 3 casts would work? I have some ideas but it's a little awkward having an odd number of casts. It seems like you'd still need one or more of the casts pulling that 13 hour shift to make it work. Four casts would prevent that though.

I'd assume it would be part-time cast. A 1-6 set, and then the full timers go for the rest of the night.

Unless I'm missing something...A/B cast rotates for 45 minutes throughout the night. How would adding a C cast prevent either A or B cast from a 12-13 hour shift? (Unless we're saying C cast goes past 45 minute sets, which is unlikely?)

I'm trying to make this work, but can't without exceeding 12 hour shifts or 45 minute sets. C cast could potentially prevent a weekly fatigue/overtime costs though.

Yep, I'm with you adding two casts (C/D), my question was moreso about the concept of adding one cast (C).

Side note,
Personally I'd love to see Monday and Tuesday get added. Having C/D casts would be the only way this could happen without driving up costs (OT) and operational issues with turnover.

Gotcha. Yeah - I don’t think there’s a feasible way for A/B to bleed over that early to help with just an early C-Cast. It's gotta be 2.

My wife and I have never done an RIP Tour, we usually do one night with express passes. This year she'll be 7 months pregnant (SHE asked me to go, I was shocked lol) and mentioned going to HHN. Quickly pricing out an early September trip, looks like for two tickets + RIP Tour will be above $400+ more than a day ticket and express passes. What is everyone's thoughts on the value here?

While not confirmed, the 2PM start time for S&S suggests that multi-night tickets will still be offered as a high volume of guests would be required to justify the earlier start time.

Only question would be the price point.

Just wanted to point that out since every year there’s always a concern.

I think it is probably a bit more complicated than just adding a c/d cast... you also have to consider makeup artist, costuming, technicians, stage managers, coordinators, and that is just a bit of the entertainment portion, you then have the operations teams, food and beverage, as well as security... It will be interesting to see how they accomplish this, as well as sustain it through the entire event... (HHN does tend to have a good bit of attrition as the event goes on...)

As someone who did HHN 31 with 6-7 month pregnant wife...

Which is why I'd expect some big price hikes for FFP (The Scream Early ticket nearly doubled in price from last year). Gotta fund it all somehow.

That experience doesn’t exist today for a myriad of reasons.

And before people get up in arms about me saying that the general admission experience is arguably worse than it used to be, the prices on the premium experience have gone up as much as they have because avoiding the general admission experience is more valuable than it used to be. If all the house waits were around 30-45 min all night, the general admission price would have gone up more and the premium options would not have gone up as much.

You can actually blame Eisner for this... I used to work MK attractions, before fast pass. I was at Jungle Cruise when it was installed (2nd attraction to get FP). We had to significantly slow down our operation to make FP work. It was never about saving guests time in line, it was about getting them out of lines and into merch shops/restuarants. Before FP, even on busy summer days Jungle had a 30 min wait max, with it getting to 45min+ on NYE, and 4th of July... Nowadays it has gone further and is about making it near impossible to enjoy the parks without the paid LL/EP...

But one thing I will say, is that I do think Universal has done an adequate job making the experience at HHN better than it used to be (IMO.) I started going when HHN was at IOA, and back then it really felt like (to me) the Wild West, beer tables like every 50 feet, including in the queues (I think I remember there being two or three in House of Vampire queue, and a lot of underage drinking), a lot less crowd control or visible security, and with fewer houses the crowds felt just the same as they do now.
