Also, Universal's new single ride express system could theoretically be utilized during this 2-5PM period for USF day guests? Giving "normal" guests a chance to "try" a HHN house out and maybe upgrade to that night's event? Maybe they receive a special colored wristband that gives them access to a singular house of their choosing with express access?

Don’t give Universal more ideas to squeeze more $$$ from us! Lol

From Reddit by way of Facebook, the boilerplate responses from Universal seem to have coalesced into this:

1777471794115.png

The language is very deliberate, treating "Scream Early" and "Stay & Scream" as separate entities. (AP early entry always was classified as a form of "S&S," with an AP being a "day ticket.") These feels more like it was drafted by Legal than a typical tweet. As bad as it seems from a logistics standpoint, this language strongly implies another level of upcharge.

Adds a new wrinkle -- are the Scream Early and S&S houses the same? Last year S&S could in theory line up at any house, even if it wouldn't open for a while. Will the SE houses be off-limits to 5? Also I doubt they offer Express from 2 - 5, although I can't imagine needing it.

As always, until we see it on a website it's subject to change, but at least keeping that option open.

Ok this is directly going against what I was told. So either something changed or they’re still discussing.

So if true, their attempt at getting extra revenue has officially overcomplicated things.

The GP was already getting confused with the S&S vs HHN vs Day Admission and what was needed for each. I know because I've been stuck behind people arguing with staff over what ticket(s) they thought they were buying.

"So this just lets me get in a line early?"

"Yes. But not that house."

"Why?"

"That's a Scream Early house. It's line doesn't open until 5:00."

"Oh. So I can see that house now?"

"No. You only have Stay and Scream."

It did make me laugh at the last point

"If you don't have an HHN ticket you can't do HHN stuff"

So theoretically, someone could buy Scream Early and NOT an HHN ticket. And they could just do those 3 houses?

I guess???? And I agree this is making things too confusing for guests and just kinda knee caps the intention of this program.

Yeah if this policy ends up like this and very few people will have access at 2pm, then that's a real shot to my excitement level for this year. I really thought all of us would be able to access this. Oh well.

Boy I feel for the poor operations folks who are going to have to deal with the confused guests while the geniuses who cooked this up get to relax in their air conditioned offices.

Me everytime you bring up having KKFOS appear again as a house at HHN Orlando. Or in any capacity.

I assumed you could only buy a SE ticket in conjunction with an HHN ticket. But that begs the question, single-night ticket only? With a FFP can I randomly opt to buy one some Thursday in October?

Also if you have SE and an HHN ticket but NOT an AP or day ticket, are you confined to that three-house area until 5 or even 6? Seems unlikely but not 100% clear.

If I didn't make it obvious in my last post, I find this an incredibly dumb idea (and a purely naked cash grab). Confusing, won't address the larger event's issues effectively, and will likely be a premium for a subpar experience. But just the messenger here, I don't see any other way to read the new more carefully drafted formal response.

They shouldn't yell at their wife, that's mean. :(

Honestly, whatever, we'll try it for a year. If it screws operations that's gonna blow and I hope they learn their lesson without it destroying the later days in October. If it causes people to clear the hell out of the big houses early maybe it's a benefit?

I'm actually surprised that Scream Early isn't just allowed as its own thing, it might actually have saved us from people that are just here for Stranger Things if it's coming and then want to take off.

I'm going to assume the 3 houses that are open "early" aka 2pm-5pm are going to be the crowd eaters in the SoundStages:

1. Jack vs Oddfellow

and the following IP's:

2. Stranger Things 5 (speculated)
3. Ozzy Osbourne (speculated).

Based on the wording, I think you would need the scream early AND HHN ticket

So the guest who paid for the Scream Early ticket ($75) and 1-Night HHN ticket ($114) for a total of $189 is prioritized over the guest that purchased a 1-Day USF Ticket ($174) and a 1-Night HHN ticket ($114) for a total of $288?

*September 12th for reference.

I don’t know if I’d call it “prioritization.”

It’s two completely different products: One is a full day in the park, the other is essentially a 3-hour head start on HHN. A full day SHOULD cost more.

The confusion comes from the expectation that those benefits should overlap when they’re not meant to. We also don’t fully know how everything will operate yet, which isn’t helping the conversation.

At the same time, we can’t keep saying Universal needs to fix crowding and then push back when they try to implement solutions. This was always going to come down to pricing and demand management. They’re raising prices because fans & people keep proving they can.

IDK if this new Scream Early ticket is the answer, and I have my own reservations about it, but I certainly understand what they’re trying to do.

I’m glad you guys have this. In Hollywood, we have to pay $15-$20 for an “early access” ticket.
